Extremely good game. Probably my favorite in decades.
The combat system is turn-based, somewhere between Divinity Original Sin 2 and D&D 5e.
The main story is not-so-original cosmic scale high fantasy, however side-quests and companion quests especially are well written and very satisfying.
It is possible to be good or evil (and everything in between obviously), however IMO the evil route, while fun, is much worse than the alternatives. I wouldn't advise a new player to start with an evil run.

The game is HUGE. It took me about 150 hours to finish my first run, and I missed many things.
There are 3 acts. Act 1 and 2 are very polished. By the time you get to act 3, you'll definitely have noticed some weird things, but nothing game breaking.
You won't see everything in a single run, especially if you don't play the Dark Urge origin. This is fine, and replayability is good.

Character builds have a lot more variety than D&D because magic items are much more common and interesting. Some optimized builds will trivialize content by level 4, unless you play in Honor mode, but its still fun.

I would advise players familiar with Larian or Obsidian games to go in Tactician mode directly in order to have a challenge.

Music, sound effects and voice acting are incredible and contribute immensely to the experience.

A note on steam deck: while it runs, performance is clearly not great. I wouldn't recommend playing it only on the deck if desktop PC is an option.

Don't miss this game.
