My personal favorite of all Final Fantasy franchises. Played this in 1999 with my brother when I was around 7! If you never played this game, you wouldn't believe how rich the story was, and how wide the range of the conflicts really are. Game is set in the future, but somehow post-apocalyptic after what happened in Centra around 4000 years ago, a Lunar Cry, where in current time people rebuild Centra into what is called a Garden. Relationships in this game are two of the most contributing factors, while others include politics, war, sorcery, and just massive destructions.

The game's background arts look ethereally.. poetic. It is just simply stunning. They're all 3D environment, just rendered into 2D and made it into a background where the 3D low-poly (characters) move accross the 3D space that have been motion-tracked to the background. The designs are mostly steampunk (architectural elements of Greek and French) combined with futuristic elements (try to observe the 3D models, colors, sounds, and advanced technology in the game).

Best battle system of all time. Indescribably cool. Junctioning GFs and Magic, draw, limit breaks, elements, statuses, real-time turnbased, weapon forging, student exams, and tons of other stuff. Just get the game and play it. And play its card-game, it's fun as hell.
