I really enjoyed this game. The story is great. The art direction and style is acceptable. The gameplay is repetitive, but enjoyable with the occational boss. The recent slew of EA survival games and rogue indie games taking over the store this game is a pleasent reprieve.

This game has its weak points, but it really has it's strong points. I've been sick of all the dumbing down games have been doing over the last 10 years. This game brings back that need to think on your toes (fingers). This game has made a very small list of games that I have, that don't hand you over powered in the early stages of the game, and expect you to grind through the next few hours, or days just destroying your enimies without thought. Now, I did say it has it's weak points and there is still grinding, and the story imho is meh, but the rewards you recieve from the gameplay style such as satisfaction and or excitment far out weight the negitives. That first boss I tried to beat without trying and got may @$$ handed to me really p!ssed me off, but I adapted and killed him. I've found that this game has alot of simple guys (hence the grinding), but it also has a good deal of variety in the bosses and they throw in mini bosses here and there to keep to on your toes (fingers). Overall this game is about 4 out 5, but could become so much more in future games.

This game is great! At the current price, yes, it is pretty expensive. I bought it at a discount for preorder, and I am not disappointed in my purchase. There are caveats to complete enjoyment like I have encountered.

1, I play this game with a controller (mouse is not supported in the menu)
2. I downscale the game for better visuals (the game is slightly blurry due to DoF)
3. I anticipate modding making the game even better. (this is the real game changer)
4. I try to get my combat multiplier even higher!!! (if you don't try then the game can get really repetitive fast)

I feel this game holds onto something that has been lost in modern games, the idea of evolving characters and enimies seems to be non-existent in todays games. This game was a real treat!

Morrowind really sucked when I first played it... then I played it again and again and again and not because I didn't have any other games, but because I told a friend about my character, and he told me about his and they were completely different. I was then interested in exploring all of the possible paths that one could follow while playing morrowind. It became my cult-favorite/alltime-favorite game.

Then came along Oblivion which was promised to be morrowind with nice graphics and I played that and hated it. Then DLC came out and I played it again and again and again you get the picture. Soon, I found myself lost in the massive world of tamerial and it became my cult-favorite/second-most-favorite game of all time.

Along comes the big bad Skyrim and I was prepared. I expected the game to be dumbed down, and I expected it to be the last ES game that would I ever play. Because, I figured that I'd like the story and dlc but it would lose it's replay value in the dumbing down process. I played it and I hated it then the DLC came out and I hated that too. I managed to put a hundred or so hours into it and felt as though it was wasted time. Then came along 200 hours, and I said that was enough, I'm way over powered, and the game is not much fun anymore. Along comes the modding community to save the day, and that is what they did. I became addicted to modding my skyrim and playing a few levels and modding it more till I broke the game, fresh install, rinse and repeat. Then I used the memory patcher and everything just worked and I decieded that I'd play the game one more time to see if I could tolerate it as an ES title. Now, three different characters later I can say that Skyrim has become my cult-favorite/third/second-all-time-favorite game. I enjoy this more now than oblivion, but chronologically it is third :p

Now I've decided to give Morrowind another play-through, right now I'm on the road on my way to balmora and loving it but not for any of the reasons stated above, but because there is a level of nostalgia that is present. I worry that the cliff racers and the terrible combat mechanics will force me to abandon my task.

I WOULD RECOMEND THIS GAME TO ANYONE WHO INTERESTED IN CHALLENGING THEIR PATIENCE AND THEIR MIND!!
