My Computer Specs

Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 @ 3.0GHZ
RAM: above
Graphics: Asus R7 240 @ 1GB

This game does not require a Core 2 Quad, maybe Fallout 4, but not this Android App.
Good game, still fun, will get tough. Yes, I recommend!

Littered with bugs
A obvious copy of Adventure Capitalist (not the same devs either)
Oh yeah.... everyone lost their game saves cause of CORRUPT FILES, yeah EVERYONE.

This game is broken and should be taken off Steam.
If you spent money on this, you're ♥♥♥♥ out of luck.

0/10

Update: Tried it again 2018. THOUGHT they had fixed the game.
Nope, still trash.
Saves don't save after a certain point.
Game lags like crazy.

Still F-ing broken.
Whoever made this game is probably too stoned to know wtf they are doing.

SKIP!

This is one of those games that CAN'T be judged in 2 hours or less.
The appeal & lure is pretty strong, played it for hours without realizing it was 7am by the time I thought "maybe I should take a break".

Everything in this game is based on choices in random events, who you please or piss off, and a 20 sided die. Course you could get horrible results all the time, even if you have devoted everthing to War & Healing, your soldiers outnumber your foes, and have at least 4 magic to boot, you can still somehow lose in raids.

Am I an expert of the game by now? No, I doubt thats even possible.
Do I like it? Somewhat.
Do I recommend it? Personally, no. Why? It gets old pretty fast & the "ooh this is neat" feeling starts to become "wtf am I playing this?"

Suggest a different game. There's another game like this one & its free, http://www.kongregate.com/games/Hyptosis/guild-dungeons-2?acomplete=guild
If you love the free game, then you just might like KoDP, but if not then skip this game entirely.

Great game, decent graphics, sleepy music (not boring, just capable of making you wanna sleep), and though there is the rare freeze/crash/both, its still worth getting.

+ customizable empires (however you like)
+ Cool random events
+ Influence colors shows your territory
- have to research anything to do with galactic communication
- battle numbers are unclear: you could have 26k power vs 12k power, and you could lose
- Random event decision making isn't clear on "good" or "bad": You could be "Hostile" and get something great, but if you're "Helpful" you could get something horrible. Just think color coded effects would help (green for good, red for bad)
- When making a new empire, click a trait (good/bad), you intend to remove just 1 from the group but game removes entire group. Extra negative is that the traits don't mention what group they are from (whether in title or description)
+/- Race/Faction exclusive tech (good if you wanna beat everyone, bad if you're in coop)
- Huge maps feel way too small
+ Designing ships isn't complicated
- Auto-Upgrade can make worst ships in the game, don't use it
- Manual Battle is just aesthetic, you can see the battle in action, but thats it
- BIG Negative - Can't exit manual battle mode
? Can still get Tech Victory even if its turned off
- Game admits it will CHEAT in harder difficulties

And just note, this is based on the EMPEROR EDITION without the DLC.
Overall rating: 7.5/10
I mentioned earlier that the game CAN freeze/crash/both, but that is PRETTY RARE.

If you want maps that rival MOO3, you won't like.
If you want a decent Space TB strategy game, get it.
If you want a game that CAN beat you on Beginner mode, get it.
If you can handle a game that WILL cheat to beat you, get it.
If you can't handle a game that rarely crashes or freezes, GTFO Steam.

Update: Did the open ports, game still crashes at random points either kicking us or "joshua.exe stopped working". Can still play multiplayer if you set the autosave to 1 or 2 minutes. But still giving it a thumbs down cause its EXTREMELY annoying. Imagine playing Dark Souls, you're just about to beat the boss then game crashes, and it continues to crash during that one boss fight, you could've killed it 10 times now if the game didn't crash all the damn time.
That's what SP2 multiplayer is like.
if you (an your friends) can handle that with no issue, get it, otherwise dodge it for a more STABLE game.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Last patch was in 2014, it is now 2017 with no mention of an update.
As a Singplayer experience, I've heard this game is awesome.

But I got this game for the Multiplayer, something that MOST strategy games are best for cause playing against the AI will inevitably get boring & repetitive. If you are getting SP2 for multiplayer, LEAVE NOW!

How to get multiplayer working: Open specified ports (you an your friend have to do this), then one hosts a game whereas the other joins. Theres a big problem though.... IT DOESN'T WORK.
Even if you manage to get the ports open (some ISPs will say no - pray you don't have one of those types), the chances of the game quitting to main menu are ridiculously high.

The devs have blamed other things (besides themselves) for those errors occuring, like virus, proxies, isp, antiviruses, openned wrong ports, and even "maybe you set up the game wrong". But no, the true blame lies with the Devs who MADE this game.
We did EVERYTHING just to get multiplayer to work and nothing worked, we even used Tunngle an that makes multiplayer work for EVERY GAME. We got maybe 3 mins in to the game an it kicks all us to main menu.
There's even a bug (that devs havent fixed) that crashes the game but tells the game your server is still running but you can't join it.

Yeah.....

If you have ZERO intention of playing with others, then yeah you'll like it.
If you're getting it for Multiplayer only, YOU WILL HATE IT.

-------------------------------------------
Latest patch - May 25th 2014:
We just set the first update live.

Here is the list of changes:
- Fullscreen support added
- MP phantom servers no longer displayed after game is terminated (still happens)
- MP connectivity errors better explained (they didnt fix them)
- small german localisation fixes
--------------------------------------------------------

Its now 2017 an no fixes an no word from the devs. This game is abandoned. I do like the concept but I hate the lack of effort to make this game great, right now it is total crap.

Early Access Review
Played the game twice - once in 2015 & recently in 2017.
I'm sorry to say, but the game, despite MANY updates, has not improved or gotten better.

Basically, you start wih a rock for both a weapon & your gathering tool (if you can call it that). The game TRIES to be realistic, but fails in MANY areas. For 1, you can run up a mountain & not lose any stamina, but run along a flat terrain & you'll lose stamina. You'd figure that since you can cut down trees with a broken rock, that you can use pretty much any tool - nope. Say you have a pick axe, it clearly looks more better than the rock & clearly has a better blade on it than the blunt rock you start with, but the game will say "You need a proper tool" an you'll be wondering "Since when is a rock a proper tool for cutting down trees?"

Pros:
- Build stuff
- Craft stuff
- You can swim
- You have a map
- Best played with friends

Cons:
- Gets boring REALLY fast
- Everything degrades pretty rapidly
- Working burns calories but doesn't burn stamina
- "Level up" feels pointless as you have no actual stats that you can improve
- Fire a Ballistae at a Tiger, he'll survive and end you
- Online ONLY game, unless you have a computer powerful enough to run the world & you at the same time (like running the game twice)

There are far better games out there that just like this:
The Forest - very similar, except theres a point to it. Save your son from the cannibal tribesmen.
Project Zomboid - also very similar, you can see your character from birds eye view, you have skills you can level up (and they do feel like level ups unlike OoR's level up system), yoou have zombies to worry about, and practically everything can kill you, including yourself (you could literally drink bleach in that game) and it's worth the $15.00 cause Devs actually do make VISIBLE improvements.
Ark Survival Evolved - 1st off, you need MUCH better than the minimum requirements displayed for this one. Optimization does need work, but beyond that if you can run it, you'll be experiencing Out of Reach with way better graphics, way better threats, way better level up system with actaul skills you can improve, you can create clans (just like in OoR), you can hunt the wild life (just in OoR), you can forage plant food (just like in OoR), you can tame dinosaurs & other wild life in order to use as mounts (unlike OoR), you can build bases that degrade over time (just like OoR), and you can run your own game (unlike OoR which requires way more to run your own - which is ridiculous).
And even - Romero's Aftermath - this game is free to play, mostly. It does have microtransactions, but considering that its free & you don't have to pay in order to get ahead (seriously you don't), even this game is better than Out of Reach.

In Out of Reach, all you do is build up, gather stuff, make better stuff, hunt wild life, and ultimately just survive.
If just surviving was their end goal for this game, they succeeded, cause thats all you'll be doing.
The title does seem fitting, because the interest I have for this game is just Out of Reach.

Get this game & I guarantee that you'll be regretting that decision.
When I first played this in 2015, I was thinking a rating of 5/10 felt reasonably fair.
But 2 years later an the game looks the same, feels the same, almost like the Devs don't care anymore, I'm giving this a 2/10. Seriously, skip this.

The First BoI game was great, this one isn't.

Cons that weren't in the first game but IS in this one:
- Enemies are far harder, you could get killed by a fly. a F-ing fly!
- The beginning where you see the controls, just pictures with NO CONTROLS
- Somehow it made more sense to the Devs to get rid of mouse controls

Pros not in first game:
- Levels are bigger
- The forced intro vid is shorter

Rebirth? Ha! What a joke! Should be called "Binding of Isaac: Degeneration"
Just in case 0.3 hours isn't helpful, I played for 16 minutes, couldn't stand another minute of this garbage, THIS is explains why the Original costs MORE, cause I bet even the Devs know, they F***ed up with this game.

Update: Don't like my review? Guess what, I don't care. Calling me stupid makes you a child.
You chose to read it, nobody forced you. If my review annoys or pisses you off, guess what don't care.

[Based on Demo]
The demo said that the content shown would not make it to the final product. That's complete bull as I've seen video footage of the final product & the demo's content is definitely in the finished game.

Frankly, it feels broken. Not like the controls not working or certain bugs showing up, I mean what the devs did when they went from Darkness 1 to Darkness 2.
The 1st Darkness game IS epic & feels awesome, everything in that game felt real, but the 2nd Darkness? Oh no.
Remove the cartoony look, take away the flashy crap, hell even the enemies feel worse than original!

Beginning of the game where you're being dragged - shoot enemmies ANYWHERE once, they die (shot a guy in the foot, he died). After you get the Darkness back? Takes several shots just to kill one. That doesn't tell me Jackie got stronger, it tells me he got WEAKER.
Seriously, I LLLLLOOOOOOOVVVEEEEEED the 1st Darkness game.
The 2nd Darkness though... Its like going from watching Spawn the Animated version then next you're watching Telltale's Borderlands. I hate this version.

Devs: Look at the original Darkness game. Now look at Darkness 2. Yeah you guys really screwed up.

Only played a lil bit of this & honestly, I'm blown away! Like Escape Velocity? IS a 1000x better than EVNOVA!
I thought I was gonna be harsh & critical of this game, but nope, this game DESERVES attention.

Why the Devs are making this FREE TO PLAY is beyond me.
If they add Multiplayer to this game, hoooooo boy.... it could go from a 10/10 to a 50/10!

Play it! You seriously will NOT be disappointed!

So far a pretty good story, they do feel real, but I swear "Henry" sounds pretty cheesy & not very humorous. Delilah so far is pretty good character, though for someone who's been apparently working this job for years she certainly sounds just as new as Henry.

Looking for combat? Not for you.
Looking for a decent story? For you.
Looking for exploration? For you.
Looking for Voiced Dialogue? For you.
Want the voice actors to curse? For you.
Want to play as a guy who sounds like a wimp unlike the bad ass in the prologue? Get this game.

Update:
Good beginning, story feels normal with nothing supernatural or paranormal, there's "no fight for your life" moments, it's literally impossible to die, but the end was a real let down.

Here's an example of what this game felt like: The first season of Lost, and then you get to the end of Lost an feel like you just wasted half your life watching something that was gonna let you down regardless if you were a fan or not.

So, I'm changing my recommendation. The game felt wasted. Even that "relationship" with D feels meaningless at the end. I liked her throughout most of the game, but then you feel like "some friend you are D" and at that point you can't wait for the game to end so you can uninstall it.

Get "The Long Dark" or something similar. Firewatch is a play once type of game, there's no point playing it a second time.
