*Review based on Demo*

Pros: Feels like Minecraft.

Cons: Trees everywhere, no Axe? Can only collect wood logs NOT chopped by you. Can only mine from SPECIFIC bolders despite the numerous rocky hills that COULD be mined.

Clearly a minecraft clone, but it does a poor job at being a clone. If you're gonna make a demo to draw in paying customers to buy your game, make it more captivating cause this was a poor attempt.

Early Access Review
Despite the fact that it's a free to play, game needs a lot of work. Its a Minecraft clone that acts like a zombie survival game. But, while it uses a realistic need for food & drink, it oddly doesn't have sleep in it.

Pros: Feels like mincraft. Yay we can kill zombies. Zombies react to sound. Lots of looting. Multiplayer capable game.

Cons: Guns create enough noise to call 30 zombies to you making guns pointless. Zombies can kill you EASILY regardless of what you wear. You start off with just 4 slots for items (Packrats will cry). Most items feel useless.

Game needs: No clothes = auto put clothes on once grabbed. Mouse Wheel switching weapons. SLOWER Hunger & Dehydration rates, especially for "Easy". A great deal less "Moldy Everything" (Moldy water?). A crafting book. 10 minimum inventory slots without bags (4 slots is just torture). A better "Torch" that isn't useless. Fill those empty clips or delete them (it's not creative, it's trolling).

Good if you're incredibly bored. Bad if you're looking for a long term zombie survival.

*Recorded hours is bull, I've played MUCH longer than 2 hrs*

So far, the game is LONG and HARD. Straight off the bat, you'll be hit with a minus ## in morale - don't worry, just keep going out and try your BEST not to get your guys KO'ed. If you see a red skull show up next to a character, HIGHLY SUGGEST that you reload (game autosaves everytime you enter and leave an area) - red skull means infected and will NEVER go away.

Love the tactics that can be used in the game, tons of loot EVERYWHERE, there's quite a bit of realism, like the hacking mechanic in the game, and though annoying, panic and horror does make battles harder or easier (depends on which side gets hit by those "run for your life!!" character freak outs).

Pros:
- Dead State uses a REAL map from Texas (the only area that seems made up is "Splendid") for the game map.
- Lots of different types of enemies.
- Sound alerting the undead/infected is a plus for realism.
- Large number of built upgrades (as well as equipment modifications).
- Unlike a lot of zombie games, there are TONS of recruit-able allies.
- There's a vote system (once Vic gets back).
- Can pick lock doors, disarm security alarms, or simply kick the door in.
- And a powerful yet unstable psycho character can join you (sad when I lost him).

Cons: (a lot need correcting and fixing)
- Typos and spelling errors EVERYWHERE!
- Tutorial mentions that you can sneak up on enemies (FALSE).
- Animals and Crawling infected are far more likely to KO player than those standing up! (WTF?)
- Feeling of being forced to build places (allies want it, don't get it done by #day, they leave).
- Boyfriend infuriated you didn't tell him about girlfriend (not spoiling) even though you are NEVER given the option TO TELL HIM (add the option, makes zero sense to not be able to tell him an him getting infuriated cause you didn't say anything!!).
- Turn Order (top right of screen) - Understand when the enemies you're fighting are in the turn order display, but SERIOUSLY cycling through EVERY SINGLE ENEMY ON THE LEVEL? (Big Con!)
- Characters in Panic/Horror can make losing pretty easy (both pro and con).
- Areas do not respawn loot & enemies (realism is a pro) but expects player to remember if area is cleared completely or not (# of times visited and days since last visit is ok, but having to remember what is cleared an what isn't can get annoying and wasteful since Time isn't on our side).
- Allies' Moods feel broke - It gets frustrating & annoying when despite your efforts, the "moods" don't ever seem to change (Morale is oddly separate from this).
- Cannot pick skill & stat point use for Allies. Though it adds to challenge, it still blows that the skill & stat points for allies is out of the player's control, this just forces a player to not bother with the pathetic allies, keep the important ones at home, and pray the allies that go out with you don't focus on a skill you don't favor (more of a con than pro).
- And Todd. He prays while we act. He thanks god instead of us. Seriously tempted to commit Wrath on him....

Despite all the cons in the game, frankly Dead State is STILL a good game. There's a lot of stories in this game based on the characters you befriend, and those you just outright want to body slam through a wall. Feels like Final Fantasy Tactics meets The Walking Dead - both very good games, and Dead State feels like a mix of the two.
Yeah there's a lot of cons that I listed, and not many pros - but most of the cons are personally (my opinion) what needs to be fixed, changed, and corrected by the developer of Dead State. Once those are taken care of, the pros will undoubtedly outnumber the cons.
The game's graphics aren't spectacular, but the visuals matter little when the gameplay is experienced.

To the Game Developer of Dead State - Please take note of the listed Cons, most are errors, typos, bugs, and others are simply game mechanics that need adjustments.
This game could be awesome, COULD BE (has the potential), but right now its just a good game. I've barely explored the map, gotten many tough battles, and made quite a number of interesting allies.

Honest Opinion of the game: 7.5/10.
If most of the listed cons are fixed, changed, or adjusted, it could easily become 9/10.
