From a gameplay perspective: Warframe has become something of a dopamine simulator. It’s genuinely satisfying to see those red and yellow numbers pop up—but the game itself has turned into a kind of Tower of Babel, where new mechanics are constantly piled on top of old ones to create what I can only describe as an abomination.

For context, I’ve been playing since the game launched on console (on PS4), and I was aware of it even before then, back when it was released on PC. In the early days, the game barely had a story. We, the players, had to piece together bits of lore to create some sort of narrative context—at least until the developers started releasing those massive story-driven updates.

Because the game originally lacked a cohesive story, these updates had to stitch together all the scattered bits of lore we already had. The result was a tangled mess, and it’s still heading in that same direction today. People often talk about how complex Path of Exile is for new players, but no one ever mentions how confusing Warframe can be for newcomers. It’s incredibly difficult for new players to understand either the gameplay or the story.

You’ve got the solar system map, then relics, then Duviri, then the open worlds (which, I have to say, feature some of the worst and most boring progression systems ever—the open-world “syndicates”). Then there are sorties, liches, Steel Path, and finally the most acid-trip content I’ve ever seen: an entirely new dimension set in the ’90s, complete with its own progression system, a calendar system, and even a romance mechanic.

I honestly don’t even know how many hours I’ve spent in this game across PC and console. It’s become an absolute mess—but to be frank, I still come back from time to time for that sweet dopamine hit. Red numbers make me happy.

BTW the Kuva Nukor is incredible and I don't ever want to use another sidearm

This is genuinely a really fun experience. My only complaints are the performance issues and the lack of cross-progression between PC and console, like Path of Exile 2 has.

update: runs like ♥♥♥♥, literally unplayable, gacha game, every player sweats his balls in a silver lobby. I hope EA goes bankrupt, soulless bastards

pdate 2: The player base is “dying.” The servers are absolutely garbage — I genuinely think they’re using the cheapest hosting possible. Sweats dominate every rank, and you can’t have fun even in Bronze or Silver.

The Halloween update is basically just Rebirth from Call of Duty, because the player base seems to have the attention span of a six-month-old baby — they just want to spawn > grab a gun > die > repeat.

I’m not going to be one of those people who say, “Oh, Titanfall 3 died for this.” The game itself has a ton of potential to be fun for years to come. But the constant lag from poor optimization, terrible servers, and a broken ranking system make it unplayable for your average player and the sweats.

I don’t want this to turn into a full-on couch gamer title, but things definitely need to be tweaked — especially those AWFUL servers.

Update: If this game had a proper, functioning anti-cheat — one that isn’t some overly invasive, kernel-level nonsense — it would easily be a 9/10 game.

Why not 10/10? Because I’m constantly matched with players from regions over 1,500 km away, which ruins the experience. Please, add dedicated servers for the Balkans. We’ve been supporting this franchise since day one, and yet we’re still not getting the same recognition or fair treatment as other regions. It’s about time we did.
