Recommend, but only on sale.

Alina of Arena is a neat small roguelike, a combination of deck builder and strategy game.

But...difficulty curve is extremely UNBALANCED. feels cheap.

Alina (you) can only move 1 space each turn, most weapon has 1-space range.

Bosses start from stage 2 has 3-5 range reach, jump around each turn ends, can knock you back, on the top of it their hp and block just sky rocketed.

For example, stage 2 boss: Ice Reaper, her action add debuff cards that eat up your deck, and also add 1 cost to all your action card.

Or stage 3, Jester Prince, he keeps jump around and AoE all the time. You cannot out-shield him, and you cannot out-damage him because has buff that reduce damage when pawns are alive. And pawns are also really hard to kill.

Anyway, even i indeed had fun, and will probably keep playing til i beat it.

But i certainly feel this game more on the frustration side. (unless dev nerf boss like, HALF)

Certainly rougelike, but not much strategy.

Your luck make this game less unfair, not your skill.
