The short of it? Wait for sale, and go in without expectations, and you'll have a great time.
Resident Evil 3 Remake is best described as an interactive movie: short (about 4 hours) action packed, and some campy fun. If you're here to enjoy a good story, breathtaking graphics/cutscenes, fight some zombies and bosses, and then have hours left in your day after you finish, here's your game.
If you want puzzles, backtracking, horror, or not many cutscenes you're gonna have a rough time.
Honestly to avoid disappointment play this BEFORE 2 (they chronologically occur at the same time) so that you can a) go in with less expectations and enjoy the experience, and b) go to an amazing game afterwards with some connecting lore.

Oh, and don't even bother with the bundled multiplayer.

In a word? Masterpiece.
Resident Evil 2 remake is so polished, so well made, with so much love, it is essentially a must-play.
It's hard to fault this game. Interesting puzzles, breathtaking graphics, intense chases, and strong voice/mocap acting that make the characters endearing.
It's not that scary. Don't worry about that. There's so much more at play here.
In one run, you won't see everything. Hell, I didn't even find one of Leon's guns. Luckily, you can get 4 unique playthroughs with slightly different story beats.
You're in for a great time.

Early Access Review
I just finished the early access.
Simply put, I can't wait until this is complete.
Many reviews here are negative due to it not being a fitting successor to the Baldur's Gate series. I'll be honest, I haven't played any of them, but I've played a fair bit of Divinity 2.
And this game blows Divinity 2 out of the water.
- Incredible writing, with meaningful interactions and characters that trust builds overtime with.
- A beautiful game with incredible graphics. Motion capture and zooming in for each conversation actually makes the characters feel real and not pieces on a chess board with subtitles and narration.
- Top tier voice acting. Immersive music.
- D&D 5e roll system that makes every playthrough unique with dialogue, where the games and characters remember everything you do.
- Turn-based combat like DOSII but with extra layers such as pushing, throwing, and jumping.
This game is already a near masterpiece in early access. I'm not sure I can wait for the whole thing to come out.
And that's the early access.

Edit: This is now a positive review. Blight has been patched for his FOV and is now quite powerful (and my main).
This DLC is now pretty essential, with a strong killer, hot man survivor, and some really useful perks like Undying and Built to Last. Definitely consider getting this one.

OLD REVIEW: I got banned mid-game because I apparently had hacked files... which was this DLC.
Also hot dude is hot. And Ping pong boy has cameras in his feet which mean you can't see anything.
