Early Access Review
Gloomwood is insane.

The first hour makes the game seem like it's just Thief with guns - "sneak around guards and stab them".
After that first hour... you're off to a wild ride.

This is not simply a run of the mill boomer shooter or stealth game.
It's so, so much more.

This game does not depend on the nostalgia factor - it lives and breathes, and it goes WAY beyond the traditional 90s paradigm. The more you play it, the more it keeps on giving.

Gloomwood is chock full of strange stuff, secrets, puzzles, and a subtext of 'weird horror' that keeps on getting more intense. You never feel like you fully grasped it.

I'll never forget getting locked in the basement with that thing.
The impossibly tense puzzle to get the shotgun.
"Whatever you do, DO NOT look in the mirror"...
I won't forget what I saw.

Nothing is ever what it seems in this bizarre, god forsaken game.

I love this game and I hope the rabbit hole keeps going deeper!
