If you enjoy pushing your face into every corner of the map in search of secrets and items this game is for you. Exploration is always interesting in large part due to the creative alien aesthetic presented through out the game. It's clear the world was built first, then the rest of the game, given the consistently beautiful and detailed set pieces.

One con is the audio engineering which will have you spinning your camera constantly as enemies sound the same distance away whether they're right next to you or in another room. That said, in the grand scheme of everything presented in this game, this is a minor gripe.

One of the best horde survival gameplay loops with the worst systems built ontop of it. The fatshark special.

TLDR: Grindy game that gets in the way of its own cool systems with quests that force a playstyle.

I can only stomach so many kill x monsters a certain way quests. At some point it no longer feels like you get to play how you want to, but instead how the quest wants you to. Basically an illusion of choice. In theory you could skip these quests but lose out on major character unlocks, most of the upgrade tree, and stronger transforms. Not to mention much slower leveling, making the game out pace your overall level quickly.

If they remove 50% of the grind this game would be a lot more enjoyable. Maybe then I'd actually feel like a transforming mutant wizard thing instead of a quest log peon.

Fun puzzles and nice commentary

This is the best implementation of parry I've seen in a game and it really makes you learn it. This game is hard and will make you learn its mechanics but putting the time in is really rewarding and you will feel like a badass samurai by the end.

You can kill people with a rainbow unicorn sword while your waifu in a bottle rips apart your enemies. Need I say more?
