Review
I'd like to say this is probably within my top 3 favourite video game stories, but it may actually be my absolute favourite story overall. I definitely recommend it, though it has some hefty PC requirements, so be weary if you're running old or low to even mid-grade hardware.

Price
I purchased the Ultimate Edition of this game, on sale, during the end of October for $39.99.
When off-sale, the base Standard Edition price seems fair to me personally, though the base Ultimate Edition price seems a bit high for what you get.
A horse, a few free weapons, an outfit, and a low-paying bank job in the story mode isn't worth another $40, especially considering it's not difficult to obtain these items in the Standard Edition early-on.
The bonuses in Red Dead Online seem pretty minimal as well, though I don't play Online, which I'll get to later.

Story
Not only is the story absolutely profound, but the graphics help capture the feeling and represent the entirety of the game extremely well.

I had a deeper connection with this story than I've had in most other games.
I especially liked the way choice was represented, I was abundantly good-natured for my first playthrough, and I'll probably replay it as bad-natured later.
I like how depending on your overall actions throughout the game, it determines the outcome.
I'd also like to mention how alive the world feels. Everything seems to evolve with the story. Background characters, as well as entire buildings and companies changing.
There's so much content in story mode alone, I estimate you'll spend around 200 hours for a true 100% playthrough.
Overall, I just really enjoyed this game.

I haven't played the first Redemption game, but I feel kinda obligated to after enjoying it's sequel (pre-sequel?) so much.

Red Dead Online
As for Online, I didn't buy this game for multiplayer, and I don't have much experience in it.
However, within the first 20 minutes of loading into a session, I retrieved Lowry's Revolver, then I went to the stable and gunsmith in Valentine, and once I left the gunsmith, I saw 4 absolutely massive alligators, then my horse was set perpetually on fire, and I was killed by falling, or something, a few times despite being on flat ground.
I haven't played Online since, just seems like another GTA Online mess.
Overall, I don't particularly enjoy the GTA Online experience, and I doubt I will enjoy the Red Dead Online experience.

Note: There are weapons available in the story, as well as RDO, once you collect and complete certain challenges for said weapons in GTA Online.
I believe the Stone Hatchet is available in story mode after completing it's respective GTAO challenge. (You can find it at a Native American burial site.)
Lowry's Revolver is available in RDO after it's respective GTAO challenge. (You can find it in Lowry's cabin.)
The golden Double-Action Revolver is available in both story and RDO after it's respective GTAO challenge. (Though it's gifted to you for free in the story mode after Colter, you only gain the ability to purchase it in RDO.)
Completing these challenges also earn you around $800,000 in GTA Online.
