One of the best co-ops out there
Procedural generation is what makes this game. Every expedition is different, caves have different complexities and lengths, it’s like a blank canvas for you to drill, mine and modify however you see fit. It’s all possible in part due to the polygonal game design that actually looks very nice, especially in combination with lighting that you have in your arsenal.

Gameplay wise, there are 8 different mission types that you just queue into as needed, depending on what assignment you are working on. Higher difficulties can get very challenging and you can get overrun quite easily if not careful. The 4 dwarf classes have very different kits and playstyles. They are all equally important and useful to have in a team, when everyone does their intended job it is a satisfying experience. Each dwarf has a few different weapons to choose from which you can further modify to serve a specific purpose. Lots of customization to unlock for the dwarves but after a certain account level there is really nothing left to get. There is a free battle pass as well. And can’t forget about the fantastic soundtrack.

It is really one of the best co-op games out there with infinite replayability. Everything is well balanced, you can tell it’s a passion project from all the attention to little details - mini game, jukebox, beers, voice lines. There are no predatory mechanics, all DLC’s are just skins. Eventually though, the game does get a bit repetitive, but you do not need to grind it into boredom. It’s the type of game you can play from time to time and always come back to. Highly recommended!
