While it may look like *just* poker to the yet-to-be-addicted eye, make no mistake - Balatro is so much more. It's easy to learn, but hard to master, and I'm still learning and having a blast ~100 hours in!

First of all, this is exactly what you'd expect from a Tomb Raider game. The graphics are phenomenal (for the most part), the story is eh, and the gameplay is what you've been sued to if you've played the previous two installments. While it has been extremely satisfying stepping back into the world of Lara Croft and Trinity, it almost feels too routine. The story and the gaemplay are good, but not fundamentally engaging in a way that makes the game as satisfying to complete as Rise. I feel like they played this one safe and instead of pushing the boundaries on an established series finale, they kept it too similar.

With that being said, it's a great game and I thoroughly enjoyed my time tromping through the jungle of another exotic paradise.

TLDR: The pinnacle of Batman's crusade against crime.

When I first picked up this game, I had my fingers crossed and my incense burning. The launch issues loomed over me in seemingly every review and forum possible. However, since purchasing the title, I have yet to run into any sizeable issue besides user error or a personal computer problem.

Arkham Knight is a masterpiece in its size, gameplay, and graphics. Even after years past launch, it looks stunning. The cape dynamics while gliding with rain sliding off the cowl particualrily get me everytime. The combat and exploration is improved from previous titles, and I somehow feel even better as the Caped Crusader. It is amazing how the devs have upgraded the controls. I will admit, in some places the writing lies on the weaker side, and the plot can be predictable, but this is often times overshadowed by the numerous easter eggs, cool finds, and villains littered throughout the game.

The game is already 1/3 of its price for a AAA masterpiece, and with sales it is even below the $10 mark. Do yourself a favor and pick up a copy of this game if you're a Batman fan, love fighting games, love graphics, enjoy a nuanced plot, or just want to beat up on some street thugs.
