Blurry mess

Compared to the original, this game looks like a terrible, blurry mess, no matter what you select in the options. Even with no FSR and no AA, native (?) image still looks as if it runs in lower resolution.
Sound quality got worse as well — clipping sound near anomalies, weird sound positioning effects.
Many configs in config files have no effect (like weapon aim toggle).

Definitely not worth playing in it's current state.

Almost 9 years after release and recent "Next-gen" update, Fallout 4 is still a buggy mess that's barely working without Unofficial Fallout 4 Patch - UFO4P[www.nexusmods.com].
And even with UFO4P, there are still some significant issues:
  • FPS is still capped and breaks in-game physics if un-capped. And it also affects level load time: higher FPS = faster load time.
  • Weapon debris (Nvidia FleX) still not working on RTX cards.

I like this game, but compared to Witcher 3 next-gen patch, this update is such a joke

A team behind Hunt: Showdown is an example of how games should be made and maintained.
Turns out you can make enough profits without aggressive monetization or releasing the same game over and over again!
This game is good and will only get better over time. Fun to play both solo and in a team.

First of all, calling this game soviet propaganda is like calling Wolfenstein nazi propaganda.
NPCs just need something to hate for whatever reason. Back in the days they burned books, now they try to cancel anything that doesn't fit into their narratives.

With this being said, the actual review:

This game is a masterfully crafted story filled with few, but well-developed characters backed by rich retro-futuristic setting which somewhat reminds of Strugatsky's Noon Universe and has tons of nostalgic content for those who were born in USSR or spent their childhood in post-soviet countries in 90's. I love Mick Gordon's take on the iconic songs from that era.
I won't get into details about the story, but it will surely surprise you over and over, it is full of grey morals, and it ill leave you waiting for story DLCs and part two. Don't slack and read the terminals, listen to Chirpers, and talk to people!

Some aspects of game design are questionable, such as open world mechanics (or their absence) and clunky inventory system. Endless streams of enemies, "special" car physics and damage model, and lack of fast travel make open-world exploration rather tedious.

As of now, there are some bugs, but nothing game-breaking:
Upgrades sometimes disappear when you move weapons to stash and back, some achievements that are based on Steam statistics are getting reset (counters for found collectibles, completed polygons, etc.), occasional crashes and the car that gets launched into space when you pass over the bump.

Шедевр своего времени, который вполне играбелен и в 2021. Само собой, геймплей устарел, но в этой игре главное - сюжет и история.

Back in the days there were games that gave you sense of total immersion: no guidance, no waypoints, only you and the world around you.
In order to progress and complete quests you had to actually pay attention to what you were doing and why. You had to negotiate, you had to think with your own head, and guess what? After 15 years you still remember all of the quests and all of the characters you encounter.
