Whilst I have spent a long time away from computer games, seeing an instant classic such as this has broken my hard resolve and I have relapsed. Sometimes you hear of games that can steal the limelight for a year, but these are soon forgotten as the endless monotony of new releases continues. Despite the failures of the industry, Pain Train 2 breaks through all stigma and boundaries to reach a level unseen by any video games for years, or at least since Pain Train 1.

Story: [10/10]
Whilst story might seem to be as simple as killing zombies, and each round seems the same, there is actually a deep mystery to be uncovered within Pain Train 2 that might at first seem farfetched, ludicrous even, but after several attempts at uncovering the secrets, one can be privy to some of the greatest storytelling mankind has yet witnessed. The underlying themes and subliminal plot lines that are intricately woven into each mission tell a story that mirrors many of the great struggles of our time, and provide access to a new outlook on life that many might consider unnatural, but is in fact telling us the story of how life is meant to be lived.

Art: [10/10]
Some scorn the shoddy animation, but these people can be considered to be lacking basic judgement. All those with proper artistic taste will be able to read into each frame, and see the masterpiece that each of the majestically choreographed fight animations bestow upon us gamers of higher analytical ability. The backgrounds contain well hidden references to the greats of our time, in a way that generously displays the intellectual capacity of the art staff, allowing those watching to culturally enrich themselves as the game progresses, allowing them to surpass themselves as people.

Sound: [10/10]
What can one say about the sounds in Pain Train 2 that has not already been said? The background tracks help draw the listener into the nuances of the show, and help in accentuating both the climaxes and decrescendos, whilst the major musical components contribute to the perfect harmony that the show forms, helping to elevate it to the zenith.

Enjoyment: [10/10]
People move through life trying to secure their well being and then their enjoyment. One philosopher who theorized how people were likely to do this was Maslow, who's pyramid of needs has been generally accepted as the path which people walk upon in order to find fulfillment within their lives. Though Pain Train 2's capabilities as a feeder of bodies, minds and spirits was obviously neglected by Maslow as he deliberated upon what people would strive for. After playing this game I found myself lacking hunger and thirst, I felt secure and loved, I felt the strongest and most content I had ever been. The level of enjoyment provided goes beyond a fleeting happiness, but is rather a deep joy that allows one to self-actualize and ascend.

Whilst many people continue to survive on earth, few truly live throughout their lives. If you wish to find a purpose, or perhaps glimpse the meaning of life itself, I recommend you do not pass this one up.
