WorldBox is the answer to all of my fantasies about being a god. In addition to a wonderful pixel world you can sculpt to your liking, my favorite features revolve around guiding civilizations as they grow, shatter, and rebuild. There are a lot of features in the game that will easily give you dozens of hours. The support to download community-made maps is a bonus.

At the time of review, I believe the UI could be improved (such as having basic pause/time control tools stay persistent on a unique corner of the screen, for example). I also believe the game would have much greater potential if Workshop support was added for abilities, tools, and AI behavior (the Workshop is for maps at the moment).

I still heavily recommend this sandbox game. Simply enjoy experimenting, and discovering what you can do.
