I think my experience of Frostpunk 1 has lead to a disappointing playthrough of the 2nd. The game feels underwhelming & a few steps back in a few ways, especially when considering it took 3 years for them to design an entirely new game & mechanics that lack the soul the first game had.

Bigger doesn't always mean better unfortunately, I miss being able to see your citizens actually trudging through the snow, slowly making a permanent path, the automatians from the first game seem to have vanished, buildings are all generic and all look the same only being identifiable by the 1 of 4 colours they will be, the new buildings hex system is a step backwards, it also seems that now ai operates the generator in the frost punk future as it's very limited in it's management settings & heating districts/ areas hardly even feels like a part of the game now with how the new heat & generator system work.

I do not however hate the game, I did enjoy some aspects of it that made it feel more complex & fleshed out, like the council system, building new settlements & trade routes through the frost land however my biggest gripe with the game is that the last expansions of Fp1 introduced new mechanics & ideas that made the game feel more personal, complex & enjoyable & I think myself and a large part of the community wanted those aspects of the game to me further explored & expanded on but this was not the case.

I think you'll enjoy Fp2 if you haven't played the first however with that being said currently the first game is more fun so go buy and play that instead while it's on sale for dirt cheap and maybe one day after a lot of updates this game will meet expectations fans have for what the game should / could have been.

We have successfully defeated the Automatans that had temporarily ceased control of Sony & The helldivers HQ. This is a great day for democracy and a even greater day for stinky gamers out there. Let it be known that our voice was heard!

Bad game, don't waste $70

Space aliens, mining & dwarves. Yeah not much else you can ask for here...

Edited review, do not play or waste your money on this game. The devs are the most greedy scum I have come across in any free to play game.
