This is probably the best free-to-play game I've ever played. I went through the game without buying any of the micro-transactions as they're mostly meant as time savers. You'll still have to grind materials to upgrade gear regardless if you choose to buy any micro-transactions or not. The game gives you death metals & express passes sometimes for login bonuses or rewards so don't feel pressured to buy into the micro-transactions. Use the death metals wisely & focus on upgrading your storage first because you don't want to throw them away on transferring items or upgrading the look of your waiting room.

If you're a fan of games like Dark Souls then you should give this game a try. It's more punishing than the Dark Souls games because if you die then you have to spend kill coins (in-game currency) to get them back unless you decided to use death metals or use another character to kill them just to bring them back (there is also the option of deleting a character in order to create a new one in its place which you'll be doing as you go further up the tower). On top of that, they apparently reduced the amount of mushrooms you get that make you go invisible, become invincible, & slow down time. There are a few weaker versions of them around that also drain your HP when you use them but the good ones are REALLY RARE so make sure you save them.

Even the soundtrack of this game is good. I actually like every track in the game except for 1 song which I have to change every time it comes on (yes, you can even change the tracks or constantly play one that you really like using the radio in the arcade which is accessible through the waiting room). The characters & voice actors are great throughout the game as is the story (although there isn't too much of a story but it's straightforward for the most part). The gameplay is the main focus though so if you like a challenge then this is the game for you.

Overall it's a really good game & if you like it then you'll get a lot of hours out of it. The only downside is that it's always online. I hope if they make a sequel then they make it playable offline with more environments & boss battles. I wouldn't mind paying full price for the game if they did that for the sequel.
