I used to play this game on occasion until they decided to ban the entire Linux platform from being able to play. So now I don't. Thankfully I never spent any money on this game.

I've owned this game for almost 10 years, it has always worked fine on Linux. That is until Rockstar decided to implement BattlEye anticheat and chose NOT to enable Linux compatibility. BattlEye IS comaptible with Linux contrary to what Rockstar says, they have just chosen to not allow Linux users to play.

Being able to play this through steam makes accessing the game a lot easier as a Linux user, thanks Valve! The Plarium play launcher doesn't play too well with Linux so getting Raid installed through traditional Wine can be difficult and time consuming.

Unfortunately the steam setup did not go smoothly for me as an existing player. Getting my account synced with steam took about 45 minutes because the steam version of the game creates a new player account the first time you open it. You can avoid this by connecting your steam account with your Plarium account before you launch the steam version, which must be done from a PC, it can not be done from mobile. It's also quite unintuitive.

If you do not do this beforehand you will need to complete the tutorial before you fully register your newly created account and link it with Plarium. Close the steam version and launch Plarium's launcher and login to your new Plarium account. Go into your settings and unlink your steam account, now you can throw away this new Plarium account. Login to your REAL Plarium account, LINK your steam account, and then play the game through steam.

For me because the Plarium launcher is fairly broken through wine I had to do all of the above through remote desktop on a windows machine, adding to the time involved which could have been totally avoided by adding a LOGIN SCREEN WHEN YOU FIRST OPEN THE GAME!!!!

I'm very glad to see the game come to steam, but come on guys, this was just dumb!

I love Payday 2 and have over 1000 hours in it. This game is more of a graphically enhanced Payday 1, and feels like a step backwards from Payday 2. Multiplayer EVERYTHING is broken, and when working as intended is designed poorly. The game has zero soul, and feels like it was made by people who watched youtube videos about Payday 2 but never played it themselves.

At first I thought there were a lot of hackers in this game, but then I unlocked the ACOG sight. I think that sight is just mad OP for getting headshots at ranges where the enemy can barely even make you out.

Great game so far, runs well on Linux through Proton.

Steam page says playable on the Steamdeck. First match I was kicked by anticheat and threatened with a ban if I kept trying. This game is currently not playable on Linux.

Edit: as of writing this seems to be fixed.

Disappointed to learn there is no Linux or steam deck support. I've dropped Windows, and unfortunately this game as a consequence.

They have added support for Linux and I am happily playing Soulworker again! This means steamdeck will support it now too.

Surprisingly good game for coming from mobile! I would describe it as Tarkov lite. I wouldn't say it's been simplified as much as streamlined and made more accessible. There are a lot of quality of life changes that people have been asking for in Tarkov for ages, and there are a lot of features that aren't even complete yet in Tarkov!

Very rough F2P launch but the game seems to be running smoothly again. A lot of improvements were made over the last year. movement feels tight and clean, weapons handle well.
