I've been playing tycoon/sim type of games ever since Transport Tycoon came out and it got me hooked to the genre. Since then many games have come and gone, but Transport Fever is one of the very few that has brought me back to that old Transport Tycoon Deluxe feeling. If you decide to play it vanilla, options at first seem limited in customization when you start a game, the gameplay itself makes up for that. Just the options that you have to lay your tracks, demolish things and re-shape are extremely nice if you want it pixel perfect.

The game itself and its gameplay always kept me entertained (and now my son) since its release, with a decent variety of in-game options and a broad range of trains and other vehicles. The graphics are decent enough to a very good zoom-in level.

As a challenge the game does a decent enough job, but from my perspective a challenge in combination with the freedom to what I want to build up as a transport empire is the key to an entertaining time in this game.

In regards to what I perceive as annoying, there aren't too many things. Sometimes the game tells you, you can't build track somewhere when there are absolutely no visual reckognizable obstacles and the amount of smoke coming from trains and out of chimneys can sometimes be a bit of an obstruction, but that can be fixed with a mod.

In overall, whether you are new to the genre and like these types of games or an old veteran, this is a must have game.
