Rather than giving less informative info regarding the game such as "♥♥♥♥ game" or "Recommend cause classified documents on forums" il give you the most basic but in-depth enough info on why i don't recommend this game. i have over 340 games now under my belt in playing tanks mostly in AB (Arcade Battles) and some in RB (Realistic Battle) as well as some navy.

The core gameplay for tanks & aircraft... Is solid! but that doesn't mean the rest of the game that ties into that gameplay makes it a good game. A mediocre gameplay can still be just as popular if other systems and mechanics in game are fair and rewarding.

But War Thunder does not have this. Why does it not have this?... Easy!

- The core progression is meant to suck the ever living soul out of you, it will test your patience's beyond any other game out there.

- It does absolutely nothing to passively open new players into the game. instead just throws you into your first 5 bot matches and after that you're out on your own, Being matched against players that have over 1k matches. Fully decked tanks. superior map knowledge, sometimes blatant cheaters knowing where everyone is at all times even without being scouted.

- Map balance & Team balance is non existent. Over 60% of the maps i've played is always 1 sided in terms of objective layout and prime sniping locations. There is 50 maps currently and each map can have anywhere from 3+ mission layouts. some have up to 5 others up to 8. You can also expect to have a semi competent team just about 50% of the time because from my experience and everyone's profiles ive checked that have upwards of 1K+ matches they're W/L is always covering around 50/50.

You sometimes might get 8+ players that can efficiently coordinate with each other and pay attention to capture points and radio commands/map pings. but most of the time you will most likely be the only holding a flank, getting 8+ kills while still waiting for a friendly to assist you or in capturing the point while you hold the flank. But instead the vast majority of your team will just YOLO suicide over and over and over again with all 3 of their tanks into the same capture point. Same route and expect to win. i have yet to experience any sort of push pull of intense competitive fighting.

- Premium whether anyone likes it or not is 100% required. Or at least is 100% required early game as an investment. otherwise youl be spending more and more time trying to grind SL (Silver Lions) just to buy the next upgrade or tank in the research tree. There is no premium ammo but repairing vehicles and restocking them does cost money which ties into the point above regarding (Team Balance)

- If you're an avid WOW (World Of Warships) player its best you avoid navel combat in this game. its still horrendously bad.

- Gaijin release of new content to milk GE (Golden Eagles) premium currency only to have it nerfed by the time people manage to grind to unlock the new vehicle

- Absurdly overpriced content, Every content creator says to always wait for a sale if you really want it. but even still £25 up to £40 even on a 50% sale is stupid AF for a in game premium vehicle.

Gameplay = 8/10
Balance = 4/10
Monetisation = 4/10
Progression = 3/10
New Player Drop off = 2-3 Weeks

TL;DR Save your sanity and dont play the game. Even tho the game does look cool. it wont feel that way when youre constantly grinding just to inch in progress every day then weeks then months only to have the enjoyment ruined by the amount of brain dead af players that are on your team not caring in the world about team objectives.

I agree, the fact is if you don't have any money for this game you are in a sh*thole.
Devs only want to milk the sh*t out of this game.

It's not like these lvl 100 top tier mf's are only on the enemy team. Also T3 is not a high tier by any means to judge the entire game's meachanics you face in high tiers later on.

Can't take criticism? You're the one trying to insult and doing these dumb points that face most online games without any alternatives or solutions.

@DiBBz then go complain about every game out there that's pvp and not indie focused about how unfair they are for game journalists like you. Competitive game's with focus on pvp are not aimed at an casual playing audience to just hop in at any time and top perform. If you had any experience with them at all, you would know that even in ranked games where you are supposed to face equal skilled opponents there will always be a chance to face smurfs who will obliterate you and your team. Average non high elo cs/val/apex player's play for months to maintain skills like muscle-memory gamesens etc. to be able to compete and you're out here complaining about facing more experienced player's while you started playing 3 weeks ago with barely any playtime.

also t5 doesn't take very long tbh
just get good, you can get top tier in 2-3 weeks if you're just good. tanks are easy to get good at.

did you even read anything DiBBz?
DiBBz 10 Feb, 2023 @ 4:13am
The game doesn't require you to no life to T5 to understand there is no MM and the matching is shit so you just need to accept reality that there is no team based gameplay in a team focused game mode. unless you play in squadron battles or what not but the far majority of new players wont! cause like i said the new player expected playtime before they give up is 2-3 weeks

@vastok, what in the fuck kind of dumb crap response is that. you expect new players to sink in over 4x if not 12x the amount of hours to experience the "Games" that you play. Bolt on you clown. cause whether you like it or not the early tier experience says it all and if you cant accept that then you're are just as stupid as the rest of the die hard clowns that cant take criticism from this game... also i grinded every day for almost 2 weeks roughly 4-6 hours each day to reach T3 germans and T3 US. ive experienced plenty.

i hope you apply that exact same mentality to everything in your life. "you absolutely loath and hate your job. Too bad stick with it till you get promoted. you've only been with the company for a year and a half."

"Being matched against players that have over 1k matches"
That's the case with all games, I don't see the point. Also you only saw the low tier aspect with 50 playhours.

go back for p2w world of tanks

games have always been that way and i would still be bad if not for it.
minecraft, cod, ksp, binding of issac, dark\demon souls, the list goes on. the game of course can ease you into it (Shouldn't have to but if it's for casuals then it should) but implying it should teach you itself is just a bad idea. as someone who knows a lot about games this is what mainly bothers me, you're telling people that throwing you in blind is bad when it's actually the fastest way to teach someone a videogame. how am i supposed to take notes from what people do if i get thrown into sbmm lobbies *Cough* *Cough* modern day cod.

and the issue with your problem is that wot is also a more new game so that's out of the question because of casuals.
the way it has been is take a game like even the old Call of Dutys for example, if you don't know how to play of course you would get stomped by good players, how else did they get good. the first skills in a game like this are not what you should do but what you shouldn't do and due to the game not being harsh enough, a lot of people will do as you said and make bad decisions all the time like a suicide rush for example. i know this because the way it has always been in gaming is that you didn't do a tedious tutorial or anything, you just get thrown in.
