Just finished the "True Ending" and wow. This is one of these rare gems you find. This game easily pushed down a lot of other titles in my top 5 all time.

Mix of Zelda and Dark Souls, with extremely well designed progression. I mean you'll have a bunch of "Oh wow I had access to that all along" moments where you'll re-evaluate everywhere you've been through with that new knowledge in hand. Said knowledge from figuring out the manual pages you'll collect over the world. It respects the player's wits and intelligence to figure it out and it's hella refreshing.

No hand-holding here, so be warned. Might be a little tough for casual gamers combat-wise, but there are many difficulty options to suit your needs. The charm of game really resides in it's intuitive combat, fun puzzles, charming graphics, great OST, and best pacing (up until figuring out the true ending vs bad ending) I've seen in a while.

Please do yourself a favour, get this game, play it blind (couch co-op is best, as you'll get stuck less often with 2 brains), and enjoy the ride.

Wild props to the team for bringing a game that has given me many hours of very-high quality entertainment not seen by many AAA releases lately

Nearly done with the campaign and this game honestly really surprises me. As far as indie games go, this is extremely polished. Turn based base builder / resource management / puzzle (need to terraform the map with randomly given tiles every other turn which keeps the expansion interesting throughout the game). Usually in 4X games the expansion aspect really stops early on but this is a little like They Are Billions in that you are adding pop all the way through late game. Been wanting a game like this for a while!
Props to the dev!

Early Access Review
Don't be fooled by the early access tag, this game is much more polished than many released games. The devs are actively listening to community feedback, with regular patches. The game itself is a isometric turn-based tactical combat with base building and rogue-like elements. You have meta-progression to go through as you successfully clear randomly generated enemy waves. The game is fairly hard at first, but gets much easier as you get a grip on it's mechanics and learn strong combos via trial and error. Well worth it's current price tag of 23$ CAN.

Good deck-builder with a couple twists on classic mechanics to make it interesting (such as needing to block damage AFTER receiving it)

A very interesting clash of genres (Tower Defence + Colony Sim + Base Builder) that is surprisingly very fun. Once you get the basics down, the game becomes very intuitive, but it is somewhat hard at first. There are QoL changes that would make this game better but overall it's pretty polished as far the average games in the genres go.
Pure TD fans might not like it since the colony management side is very important, but on the other hand if you're not a fan of TD games but play the likes of Banished, Rimworld, etc... give this one a try.

A fresh take on the RTS genre, this game personally takes the cake as the best RTS game released in the past few years. The game is not for everyone considering its hardcore nature (you can't save during a mission, if you die you have to start over), but the difficulty settings allow for a wide audience of RTS players. The campaign progression feels smooth and well thought-out with a solid tech tree to unlock as you clear missions. The game doesn't hold your hand at all, so expect a lot of trial and error.

The regular missions and survival mode are a lot of fun, start with a small base, clear out zombies to claim territory, expand and optimise your colony and setup your defences. The game is very polished with a decent soundtrack, good graphics, seemingly bug-free (after the 100 hours i've played at the time of this review) and solid optimization. My only gripe with the game are the "non-standard" campaign missions in which you control a hero to clear out maps. It's very straight-forward and boring (IMHO), but the rest of the game makes up for it.
