Game concept is lit, the pacing and scaling of the game is not.

Past Cruciball 6 the game becomes a slog and essentially a pull of the slot machine. If you don't get good orbs early game, good luck winning. You'll soon find out that it will be very difficult to progress due to, as another person said, "the death spiral," where if you aren't able to get decent dps online, you're gonna be spending your money healing instead of on upgrades or better orbs.

Build variety is scarce; Bulwark is too hard to build up, Spinfection relies too heavily on orb removal which costs more money than mostly everything, Crit needs too much to get going.
The misnavigation is such a dumb feature when you are sometimes forced to hit pegs in order to proceed, it makes total sense on Poker Chip as risk/reward, but being punished for basically trying to hold W is unfun.

Overtuned minibosses, Shield Mage- A DPS race on an enemy you are unprepared for and have no way of knowing is there, combined with the rng of Refresh placement and possibility of Armored pegs blocking it/you. The Ghost in the Mines- Enjoy losing more than likely 50+ hp before you can even do damage because some moron decided that an enemy should be able to hit you for 6 every turn, while making it so you can only do damage after practically 6-7 turns because you HAVE to hit the Refresh pegs.

Overtuned enemy comps. They are literally designed to counter your entire run even if you have a goat run. Why the ♥♥♥♥ are ranged enemies able to move and attack EVERY SINGLE TURN????? Shields taking half damage from projectiles??? Yknow, 90% of the damage type this game has????
-The mushrooms with the big slime is just asinine. 2100 hp enemy that hits for 16 but they put two enemies in front that heal him and also soak up damage and your orbs so chances are you have to reload when he gets to you so it deals 32 damage. Oh yeah the pegboard is constantly shifting in and out so you can't reliably bounce between pegs either. Absolute bs.
-Sometimes you'll get a group of enemies in the first floor of the castle that has, A. 4 enemies w 2 being ranged, with the one in front having a shield that reduces bomb damage for some reason??? B. the ranged ones hitting every single turn so better pray you have a targeted orb to deal with them, otherwise the shield will soak up all of your damage leading to, SHOCKER, you dying either this round or next because you've taken 70 damage before you can even do anything.
-The triple plant elite fight. Look I get this is an "elite" fight, but this enemy never moves, constantly attacks for 5 damage, show up in ? rooms, and has one of the worst pegboards in the game. These dudes can show up 4 rounds into a run and you just.... lose. 900 damage is just not possible to deal that early without taking an exuberant amount of damage or straight up losing.
-And by far the worst is the brick fight. 5 enemies, 360 hp, 6 damage a hit. Not too bad right? Nah, they move about 3 spaces every turn, making it so they reach you in about two turns; then two proceed to hit you every turn because they can jump over each other. 12 damage a turn, you start with 100 hp, 360 hp each. do the math. unless your run is absolutely goated you're just going to lose the run after due to taking most likely 70 damage, sometimes in a ? room because ♥♥♥♥ you

Overtuned bosses. The Qaballistic Ruins. Really??? 12k hp, stacking Muscircle every turn, a heal every turn. The tip for the boss tells you to kill them one at a time. Bro. They rotate every turn. Do you guys even play your own game? Pigment of Imagination, hope you like a boss that punishes you for killing the minions that you are almost certainly going to be forced to kill because they'll start doing triple damage the boss does in a turn. oh yeah and your orbs will stop bouncing thus reducing your dps even more! so fun!! Thesaurosus getting 18k hp Cruciball 10 while also putting damaging pegs on the board you have no way of strategically dodging while simultaneously doing damage to the boss. bruh
You think you had a good run? Too bad, Act 3 will send 8 enemies at you at once with 500+ hp each that deal 5 damage a hit.
There is almost 0 way to reliably sustain yourself through the game, your only hope is the CHANCE Doctorb shows up. But did I mention not every character gets access to the same orbs. So Doctorb doesn't even show up for some. Ballm needs so much setup you aren't gonna ever heal anything from it unless your run is already goated. The only healing orb I genuinely like is Nosforbatu and that's solely because it scratches that lifesteal itch.

I wish i could give a thumbs up because the concept is fun, but this is honest to god one of the most poorly balanced games I have ever played in my life. I really wanna keep playing and grind to Cruciball 20, but it just feels like I can only do that if I'm lucky, no skill or decision making involved at all. Darkest Dungeon is more forgiving than this game, and that isn't even a joke.

I genuinely do not understand what enjoyment the devs get out of hurting their own playerbase by ignoring them. Stick with platformers guys, you are not capable of making a balanced game. Piss poor decision making all around and you guys do nothing but sit on your ass.

2/10

Only gotten to after Del Lago, but this game is already an absolute fantastic reimagining of Re4. They switch the areas up enough to be new and fresh, but still recognizable in layout as the ones from the original. The save music is also just as good as the original but no Serenity, at least not yet :(
