Early Access Review
Great gameplay loop and the fact that there are physics adds so much more joy. Not going to lie though I liked the original banner. I feel like the modified emoji fit the game's style and clearly people were still buying the game so it isn't like it affected sales. I'm a little sad they changed it :(

rest in peace my boy taxman

Pretty fun game and it is especially worth a play since it is free! Didn't take me too long to 100% the game but I had a great time doing so! If you're bored and looking for a cute short experience, give this game a try.

Amazing game that you should 100% give a go. I am not even a fan of deck building games because of how bad I am at them, but this game was incredibly hooking. It subverted my expectations for what the game was, I highly recommend you play it without looking too much in the game to avoid any spoilers. I went into this game knowing nothing and I am extremely grateful for that.

A sequel that managed to remove content instead of adding it.

In my opinion, this was the best battle royale game out there. It may have looked like PUBG but to me it greatly improved on how PUBG played. Like the majority of people here, I played when Mt. Dione was the only map. In short—this map is amazing. Combined with the method of winning, this map felt fresh and unique. The environment, snowboarding, gliding, and the never used climbing mechanics were very fun to play around with. The system to get cosmetics was similar to how PUBG's was at the time (I'm not sure if PUBG's method of getting cosmetics is the same from way back when I played it) and it worked. You didn't need to buy anything for cosmetics, just play the game. Not to mention all of the cosmetics were simple yet pleasing to look at. None of them really made you stand out with maybe the exception of that yellow jacket. I didn't mind the battle pass as every free game has one at this point and as long as it's strictly cosmetic, I don't care. Eventually, a survival event was released for the map and that was even more fun. Even though it was locked to certain times of the day, it was a creative take on battle royale. It kind of reminded me of Darwin Project but still unique. I thought after that event that the game would go uphill from there. The new map was released and so were new classes. I thought the grappling hook things were cool but to be honest it didn't seem viable to use any other class. This one benefited you the most in gunfights unlike Mt. Dione where you would use them strictly for travel. If I remember correctly, all of the classes had the same storage so it was pointless choosing a class for extra gear. Despite adding new content, it felt as if the developers stripped away everything that made the game unique. The only thing that was kept was the gunplay and the method of winning.
I noticed the game is doing a community vote and hopefully that will show the developers that Mt. Dione is a good map and they should make it the main map way more often.

The story was pretty good. I wish I could've enjoyed the ending though. While I am not recommending this I do want you to follow the state of this game if you were interested and if they fix any of the issues I experienced. While I cant guarentee you will expierence these issues too, I still would wait until they update the cutscenes' quality if you're into immersion. I will gladly change my review if the game is updated.

The audio in the cutscenes kept cutting in and out so I could barely understand the dialouge. The weird part was that it didn't even happen in every cutscene. Just the first 2 or 3 and then the last one (which was the most important). There was also a certain location that if I looked at it, then it would kill my frames. I have no idea why this was happening and it happened on both floors. I even changed my graphics to the lowest they could be and it still was happening. I ended leaving the game at the low textures because the zombies looked really out of place if the graphics were any higher than simple. The cutscenes also have yet to be changed in the graphic settings you have on. This would mean the game looked ok to it looking potato again. The audio cutting out didn't really help.

Simple combat but the movement was sometimes broken for me. I would move one direction, then quickly try to move the other way, but then I would just glide some other direction for half a second. I was also kind of bored every time I saw a zombie and didn't really want to fight them because of the occasional broken movement. It also felt like it took way too many hits to kill them, and the axe was really slow so that didn't help.

My PC met the mininum requirements and I was running the game on the lowest settings and the frames were equivalent to when I had the game on fantastic. I would also like if the dev could figure out why the audio was cutting in and out rapidly in the cutscenes for me though. Comment for dev: I can send you a clip of it happening if you would like.

The puzzles were pretty good, however I'm stupid and had to use most of the hints. It wasn't that I didn't know what to do, it was just because I didn't get to the part required to finish the puzzle. I would attempt to do one puzzle, but in order to do it you had to do a different one. Because of this I would end up unlocking the hints, only to find out that I can't even do something yet. Although sometimes my brain turned off and I didn't do the obvious thing. I do like how the hints are color coded to how much they spoil of the puzzle. Blue being a somewhat vague hint, yellow being a more direct hint, and red being the answer. The voice acting was pretty good, from the parts I was able to actually understand. As stated earlier, I liked the story and the ending.

My thoughts on the ending (obviously spoiler): I tried to enjoy the ending although it was rather hard with the audio breaking every split second. The only part I have to critique about it is when the protagonist shoots himself. It would be nice to see him find the gun instead of him pulling it out of nowhere and while finding it he has second thoughts before doing it. Him killing himself felt like it happened too fast because of how abrupt it was. Maybe if he had the gun out while he was giving the realization monolouge would've made it feel less abrupt. I would still like the first suggestion I made better though.

TL;DR: Cutscenes were broken for me but need to be updated regardless for quality reasons, frame drops when I look in a certain direction, movement in combat was slightly broken for me, story is good along with the dialouge, and the hints were nice.
