Early Access Review
Let me start off by saying, if you're really into survival games, then you'll love this. Right off the bat, the game pays homage to Cast Away. If you don't know what that is, it's a movie with Tom Hanks. Great movie, go watch it. It's on Netflix...

That being said, this game is a lot like The Forest. A lot of people have made that connection already, but this game differs a lot in the fact that THIS game is pure survival. There is no end game & there are no crazy natives trying to kill & eat your face. Yet... The Devs have hinted that the final release may have you aiming at being rescued.

As the game stands right now, it's pretty buggy. I'm not going to go into detail about the bugs, if you want to know what they are, just check the community page. Plenty of people crying about them. With that ALSO being said, let me throw out a BIG DISCLAIMER here for anyone reading this & thinking of buying this game... This game is EARLY ACCESS! Meaning it's at least in Alpha right now. If you buy this expecting a flawless 100% title, you're going to be very VERY disappointed!

This game is still under development & will be updated regularly by the Dev team who will be fixing bugs & glitches & adding new content to the game. Right now there really isn't a whole lot you can do in the game aside from just basic survival stuff. Gather food, build a shelter, search for Wilson (Cast Away reference) & scavange sunken ships. In fact the game in it's current state is kinda boring after a few hours, but the world is infinite. Procedurally generated everything lets you travel the sea forever! So no two islands are alike & there's always new ships & gear to be found & THAT'S what keeps people playing. This game has the 'I wonder' factor going for it.

The graphics in this game is another one of its strong points. In fact, I'd say it's the back bone of the game. Everything set to max, even in the current build, the wolrd is just breath taking. One of the best looking games I've seen in a while.

The game has a very akward crafting system that takes some getting used to. It's just so opposite to the crafting systems of so many other games, but not in a bad way. It helps to create the realistic feeling that you're really stranded on an island & NOT in a video game. Also there is no HUD. All the info you need to know is located on your wrist watch, adding to the realism & immersion of the overall game.

All in all I'd give the current build of this game a 7-10. The bugs don't really bother me because I know it's early access, my lower score comes from the lack of overall things to do. Would like to point out though that the devs hinted at adding multiplayer in the future. So you could potentially end up surviving with a friend. Keep in mind they didn't confirm this, they were just answering a question someone asked by saying they liked to do that & that they have big plans for the game on down the road.

This game is AWESOME! I have become SO burnt out on the run & gun, shoot 'em up style of gameplay Call of Duty, Battlefield & even PlanetSide 2 have become. This game is a breath of fresh air for me. It's a shame more people don't play. Was just on & there was just over 1200 people online, however, finding a full server isn't an issue...

This game is NOTHING like CoD, BF, or PS2, so if you're looking for a new FPS & expect something similar to those games, look somewhere else. This game is in a whole new genre. This is a realistic FPS. Not like a military sim like Arma, just a hyper realistic FPS. 1 bullet can kill, your character actually feels like they're carrying weight, there are no fancy attachments, no perks or kill streaks. It's just you, your gun, & your willingness to play tactically.

People coming from FPS's like CoD, BF & PS2 will struggle at first with this game. If you're bossness lvl on those games are beyond measurable levels, you can leave your ego at the main menu with this game, because NONE of those skills translate into this game. You run out into the open on this game, & YOU WILL DIE! That being said, you can't really camp off in that back either, or you'll hardly ever get any kills & your team will more than likely lose. You have to "TACTICALLY" advance up the map. Scan your enviroment before moving up, check your corners, play as if you're really there & it's not a game. This game requires you to stop & think about where to go & how to get there. You can't run into an area totally oblivious to what's going on around you or you will die.

Let me put it this way... If you can mangae to get a 3 kill steak, you're going to feel like F'n Rambo!

Overall I give this game a 10/10 simply because it's really fun, the graphics look amazing & it's just so different. It's a lot like Insurgency if anyone has played that, just set in WWII & it looks better. I'd HIGHLY recommend this game to anyone who is looking for something new... Something a little less arcade & slower pace, but still loads of fun.

This was an AWESOME game! Tomb Raider has come a LONG way & to me, this is the best of the series & I grew up playing TR, so I am self proclaiming myself as a TR veteran... The graphics were amazing. Turned everything up as hish as it would go, 1080p @ 144hz & some of the set peices & scenery was breath taking. It's a true Next-Gen expereince!

If you haven't yet played this game, I HIGHLY recommend you do so. You won't regret it!

It's basically Assassin's Creed, set in the Lord of The Rings universe... There are a LOT of core gameplay differences between this game & the AC series, but overall it's pretty much the same. So if you like AC, then you'll love this game.

This is probably one of the best LOOKING games I have played in a long time. Graphics maxed out, 1080p @144hz, the game is just visually stunning! The gameplay reminds me a lot of Elder Scrools, just with a MUCH better story & characters.

The game it's self is a bit confusing at first. Definetly takes some time to learn the ropes, but once you do, the game becomes very fun to play.

The game is a huge improvement over the first Witcher game & The Witcher 3 is going to blow this one out of the water, so buy this game & play it. Learn as much as you can about the story & prepare for Witcher 3.

This game is hard to sum up in words alone, but I will try my best. If you're tired of playing Call of Duty or Battlefield, then you should give this game a try. I have played every CoD & BF game that's ever been made & I can say confidently that this game beats them all!

For those worried about the whole "Pay To Win" factor being this game is free to play, rest assured the developers have made this game where skill is the ultimate decider in victory... Not the gear you're running. In fact, each class pretty much starts out with the best weapons in the game! All the guns you can buy are significantly weaker, but make up in other areas such as ammo capacity, reload speeds, little things like that. Buying new guns either for your soldier or your vehicles will give you a slight edge in certain areas of combat, but it's not to a point where you dominate over everyone else!
A person skilled in FPS's can easily come in with stock gear & dominate over everyone!

As for the battles themselves, unlike CoD & BF, there are no matches... You have 4 continents to play on. Amerish, Esamir, Indar & the newly added Hossin. Each continent can host over 2k players at any given time! You battle over bases & if your faction takes all but a few of the bases on the map, then your faction will lock that continent & claim it as a victory! There are two ways to lock a continent, either by total domination, or by capturing the most bases during an alert! Doing either will net your faction purchase bonuses.

The three factions are, The Terran Republic, generally viewed as an evil empire hell bent on total domination. The Vanu Sovereignty, these guys use alien technology & believe that the future of human evolution is through modifaction & intergration of this alien tech. And last but certainly not least, The New Conglomerate. These guys are the freedom fighters! They view the TR as an oppressive regime & are determined to end their tyrannical rule & view the VS as sick demented freaks who are trying to change nature it's self & vow to stop them at any cost.

In this game, you can join what's called an Outfit (Clan) & team up with a platoon of 4 squads with a total 48 players. The Outfit I'm in, "Phoenix Battalion" usually has 2-3 Platoons running & we covers differnt areas of the continent. We all communicate very well & you could even go as far as saying we simulate being in a real war! You have sqaud leaders who issue indirect orders to their squad & you have a platoon leader issuing direct orders to the squad leaders & even have OUTFIT leaders issuing orders to platoon leads. The whole chain of command is there & it works very well.

You also of course have the ability to spawn in vehicles such as Tanks, ATV's, Troop Transport & Air Attack. Just think of Battlefield, just on a much more MASSIVE scale!

You can hop between each of the 4 continments at any time, hop around the map it's self at any time & even log out & play as a different faction if you choose. However, you can not have more than one faction on one server. If you make a new character using a new faction, you will have to choose a different server, or delete your previosly created character.

One more thing... Planetside 2 is a VERY CPU intensive game! I see SO MANY people complaining of low FPS even though they have a BEAST of a gaming rig. I would say PS2 is like 80% CPU, so if you're running an old crappy processor, you're not going to get that great of performance. HOWEVER, there are a LOT of video guides out there that show you how to get the most out of the game & it's as simple as turning off a few things in game. Don't be turned off to the game by low FPS stories. EVERYONE who plays this game experiences low FPS at some point! I personally can see over 150 FPS & then when I get into a massive battle with 100+ players all shooting, it drops to around 40-50 FPS! However, even tho that is low, it has NEVER impacted my ability to do very well in game! In fact, you can't even tell really when it does drop down like that. The gameplay stays just as smooth as ever.

I hope this review is useful to some & I hope it gets this game some more players! If any of these things sounds like fun to you, then download the game today & start playing! It's 100% free & like I said, you don't need to buy ANYTHING to do well on the battlefield.

DO NOT BUY THIS GAME! At least not on PC... This game was a pretty big flop on PC it seems. I have yet to see more than 2k players online at any given time. Under 900 players worldwide playing Core TDM & under 400 playing HCTDM! The numbers are even less on the other game modes!

If you want this game, buy it on consoles. I know personally there's an average of around 40k players on the PS4 version & probably even more on the last gen consoles.

I bought this game off of Amazon at a 53% discount, so I'm not out much money, but don't waste your money on this crap. Even if it goes on sale, you'd still be wasting money because no one is playing! If you want a highly populated CoD game, then go buy Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare! It's without a doubt THE most played CoD game on Steam. Over 4k ACTIVE servers, active Admins so hacking is at a minimum. Even has modded servers running unique custom game modes.

To reiterate, do NOT buy this game on PC... It's a waste of money!!!

This is actually a pretty fun game... A person can play this game & do VERY well without ever buying a sinle piece of paid gear. I would say with confidence that this is NOT a pay to win title. Yes buying gear does give you a slight advantage on the battlefield, but it's not really enough to dominate all others. Like I said, you can do very well with the deafault gear.

There are some bugs & glitches here & there, but it's a free to play title. Don't download this expacting some AAA performance, cause you're going to be highly disappointed.

As far as gameplay goes, it's pretty smooth. Very fluid combat & the added HRV (Hyper Reality Visor) allows you to see enemies through walls for a few seconds. They added that in place of the mini map. It can be a bit frustrating at times because you can't use your weapon while it's up & the enemy can see YOU through walls, but it also helps get you into the action very quickly.

All in all I'd give this game a 8/10 & would reccommend everyone at least try it out.

What little bit I played, the game was really fun. I died pretty quick though & wasn't able to build anything other than a fire before that happened. However I see a lot of potential in this game. I can see what the developers are going for & am really looking forward to playing the full release!

Okay let me first start off with saying this... This game is NOT worth $20!!!!!!! If you're really wanting to get this game, please do yourself a favor & wait until Steam puts it up for sale. May be a while down the road, but I imagine they will eventually.

Having played this game for several hours, I have gotten into several modded servers. Granted, getting into a normal server was as easy as backing out & searching again, but the thing is, this game sees like 600-800 players MAX on a good day. So you're not always going to be able to back out & get into a normal server. You will sometimes back out & then just rejoin the same modded server.

The negative aspect out of the way, this is still the same old MW2 you played years ago. It plays just the same & when you DO get into a noraml server, it's loads of fun! I've never had any issues getting into full servers either, so it's got that going for it.

As far as hackers & modders goes, I have never personally came across one, or if I did, I didn't notice. It's just the modded servers you have to watch out for. Play on those to long & you could get slapped with a VAC Ban!

All in all this is a good game, but i really wouldn't recommend it to anyone other than die hard MW2 fans, or people trying to complete their CoD collection. It's a dying game! Yes it will ALWAYS have a player base, (mainly the hardcore MW2 fans) but if you're just getting into PC gaming, or looking for a new FPS, I would tell you to buy Call of Duty 4 instead. There are 4,000+ ACTIVE servers in that game & the number of active players grow every day!
