One half of bringing the game back from near-death. And it works.

Imagine thinking you could pull extreme economy changes on a community that leaks classified military documents for fun.

If you want to play infantry, go right ahead, download, install, enjoy.
if you want combined arms? Hah, good luck. The team lead for development has his personal enjoyment higher than the game's longevity or any sense of balance or maintained faction flavor. All the factions are becoming muddled together and there is no true distinctness among them anymore. Vehicles are nigh worthless unless you're at the top of the skill curve for them (Infantry have half your reload rate, will never die to splash, and can even instantly kill you with C4 because some classes are actually faster than vehicles in short bursts). Vehicle-borne AA is oppressive for aircraft, as are infantry based lockons with their second or lower lock times, any the few remaining pilots from the game's golden age slaughter new pilots by the bushel due to the game's unorthodox flight model.

TLDR: If you want a knock-off COD with no vehicles, go and play. If you want a proper combined arms game, like the original PlanetSide in 2005, and PlanetSide2 in 2016, don't install, you will only be disappointed.
