SIT UP TO MAKE THE GYRO CONTROLS WORK ON STEAM DECK

If you're planning to play or have tried to play on Steam Deck and quit because of the controls then just sit up when gyro inputs appear. When you're lying down and holding it up to your face it messes with the gyro controls and guarantees you fail every QTE no matter how close you think you're following the input. They were intended for a controller held parallel to the floor. You don't need a custom control scheme, you don't need to connect any extra peripherals, you just need to hold your Deck so that you're looking down on it. Yes, it sounds like ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, but people on the Internet are still complaining about how the controls are broken and they're wrong. Don't listen to bedridden gamers.

Otherwise it's OK, 6/10, the plot doesn't come together because they seemingly cut a bunch of stuff, but it has crazy action scenes, and the female character gets sexually assaulted multiple times - a classic David Cage game.

Let's be real - the first game kind of sucks. Pathologic 1 is a walking simulator with a rudimentary survival system attached that leaves the vision of three doctors fighting death against all odds unrealized. It doesn't help that most players will naturally choose the Bachelor route, which involves the townspeople ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ with you for twenty hours straight because you dared to be a smart guy from the city, sending you on meaningless fetch quests while the Haruspex does all the important and exciting work. And then it just kind of sharts itself right at the finish line with an "oh so meta we ran out of time to make it good" ending.

Pathologic 2, however, is a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ banger. The game just does everything a million times better (except for the soundtrack, maybe) through the virtue of laser-focusing on the Haruspex route. It tests you on your foresight - how much useful stuff can you hoard separated from the garbage, how many lucrative jobs can you take separated from busywork, how many people actually worth talking to can you keep alive and for how long, and the like. The ending feels deserved, you really did play a doctor who went through hell and back to beat the plague - I'm glad they figured out how to end it on a satisfying note, even if it did take them fifteen years.

Overall, Pathologic 2 is a strong recommendation if you're looking for a tough but fair game. No task is impossible if you use your head.
Hope to see the Bachelor route done this well sometime next year.

It's a night terror but you're playing on the side of the terror.
I was skeptical at first, mainly because of how much praise the game gets for being LyNcHiAn, but within an hour the main route won me over. The developer masterfully answered the post-season 2 Twin Peaks question "what if Cooper's Doppelganger arc wasn't complete ♥♥♥♥?" (that Lynch himself did not dare answer) and entered pure, unadulterated Stephen McDaniel territory, and it makes you giddy, thinking about how much you can get away with.
I wasn't a big fan of all the side stuff describing the nature of events, and letting the player jump straight into that part of the game has turned a friend of mine away from the game completely, so make sure to do the obvious default route first before delving deeper.

Scorn is a gorgeously designed struggle between walking sim and awkward shooter that almost makes you feel sorry for fleshy creatures in your way, so it's exactly what I expected from the very first gameplay trailer. Later puzzles and an open ending leave much to be desired, but overall I found it to be worth the price and the five hours spent on my first playthrough, done in one sitting. Wish the devs luck with future projects, just hope they don't drop a teaser way before their next release and again create unreasonable expectations in niche perverse communities.

I like to think of myself as a pretty jaded guy, but LISA's emotional beats still get me, which is more than can be said for the vast majority of video games and all that. What's equally as strong as the game's feelings side of the story is its glorious soundtrack, which, in summation, goes hard - make sure to check this out if you're curious: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YLc0vBGw-AQ

The only real weak point I can think of is the trite, soul-murdering menu clicker that passes for gameplay in most 90s JRPGs and here - however, this game doesn't overstay its welcome in terms of runtime and tries still to keep you on your toes (i.e. use or abuse of Joy to speed it up and events, both story and random, meant to screw you over in terms of party planning).

Overall, this is a definite must-have if you're looking for something dark, sad, and funny (not necessarily in that order of beats hitting you). If people are still talking about something years after release then it must be at least interesting, if not really good - and it actually is that good - and I hope people keep talking about LISA in the coming years until systems capable of supporting its admittedly dated engine die. Get it and be there to keep the memory alive.

THE OFFICIAL VIN DIESEL VIDEOGAME
*hits blunt* and the national security advisor, he turns into a cat and starts firing teeth from his spine, and you run him over with a train, and then he, he turns into a T-REX with an eye in its mouth and you explode it with barrels, and then he turns into the cat again and falls down a skyscraper, and then into a fly, and you strike him with rods that attract lightning and he gets hit by lightning like five times and gets impaled on an obelisk
No joke, by the time the final chapter in the FIRST campaign hit, my friend thought the plot was going to involve time travel, too. I’ve played it twice, put some times into Mercenaries way back, and the most concise way to describe the game would be:
The gameplay of a casual military shooter with B-movie action plot about saving the world three times back-to-back. You get to fight the Terminator on a janky bridge over lava and also fly a VTOL to assault an aircraft carrier. The secret campaign aside, it may be one of the best co-op experiences I’ve had in recent memory, rich with both intentional and unintentional fun moments.
The ♥♥♥♥ murdered their series so that the westerners could have FUN in a formerly horror title

I never made it past Chapter 2, so take the following with a pinch of salt.

Icewind Dale is a dungeon crawler and nothing but. Baldur's Gate 1 had about 3 (three) dungeons that you have to visit for plot reasons and 0 (no) dragons, and this game is 80% dungeons and it probably has way more dragons (that I never got to see). Multi-level caves and crypts with high quality assets, lots of varied combat encounters (not just packs of rats swarming towards you), you can see your party noticeably progress in terms of gear and level every couple of hours or so. If you really like the kind of combat Infinity engine games offer (every agent gets to perform one action every 5 seconds), then this may be THE game for you, I'd say it beats BG1 and Planescape Torment in that department, fair and square.

How come is this a negative review then? There is not much else to do. I really like quests that give you choices or that have multiple solutions, and IWD has barely any of that. The only way to make an evil party stand out from a good one is to slaughter the people in every hub you visit. Boilerplate, impersonal plot (the great evil is about to awaken, pls stop it). No character interaction whatsoever. Your only break from all that combat is the bit where you return to the hub area to sell some loot and then get back, a couple of minutes.

Maybe it's the game for someone, but it wasn't the game for me.

“The Silver Case” is a postmodern mystery thriller. A typical case goes like this – you get an info dump, pass the time trying to retain some of that stuff in your head, and then things come together on their own. It might as well have been a graphic novel or an anime (or a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ pdf file), because you don’t get to make decisions and all your input amounts to moving your character from one scene to another. You can’t even ♥♥♥♥ it up – most puzzles (yeah, like three out of four, barely any puzzles in this game) have an auto solve button and there are no game overs.

The plot is weird. Some cases go nowhere, some questions are left unanswered (what was the conspiracy? are ghosts real?). I’ve seen some ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ on the Internet compare it to a Pynchon book, this may be the best comparison you will ever get. Don’t expect all of it to make sense or you will end up wasting 15+ hours of your life reading a text translated from Japanese line by line.

Having said that, I’m glad I got to experience it. The game ran fine on my toaster, the translation was OK, and I was left thinking about serious stuff when it was all over. If you like reading weird ♥♥♥♥ at night (DON’T research Golf rumors), this is the game for you.
