EDIT 2: After this "big june announcement" it is over.


EDIT: Okay, so in the last year this game gotten soooo sooo much better. While the combat system is the same it got so much more fluid which made it much better. The new weapons are fun to use aswell. New expeditions came out, a new zone got added to the game (which is HUGE btw), 3v3 arena got added and soon there will be leaderboards for both PvE and PvP.
I can't wait to see this game blossom even more. Good job AGS for keeping your faith in this game and patching all those nasty bugs and exploits from the start that made my original review so negative. Keep up the good work.

OLD Review:
The combat system is so bad in this game it made me quit completely. It just feels so clunky. And don't come at me like "oH iT's JuSt bEinG rEalIStic", well, if we wanna be realistic, no one can throw fireballs or heal with a wooden stick etc etc. I can't handle this much clunkiness such as the pause after every dodge (unless you do the weapon swap 'exploit'), the praying for the weapon to swap if you cast abilites in quick succession and there's lot more I think just shouldn't happen in an MMO in 2021. Like why am I not able to dodge roll immediately if I see the enemy casting? Why I need to wait for my character to finish the animation for a light attack?!

Also, what about the "swimming"? Really? That is a joke. If we are not supposed to swim, don't let us go into deeper water. I don't care if it's 'lore' or whatever, it's just a joke.

All the exploits and bugs and connection issues (atleast for me) is just unacceptable.

This is the biggest let down for me in YEARS! I'm probably not the only one who were waiting for a good MMO to come out. I understand that this game is more PVP focused but having these quests and this kind of PVE is not good. The leveling after 30 is way too slow, the quests are boring and uninspired and the dungeons (as far as I know) are pretty boring (yes, I only played 2 of them, but the regular excuse of "it gets good after x hours/levels are just dumb as no one wants to play a game just to rush to max level if the leveling sucks).

Let me just tell you ( I know no one cares) that this is my first review I wrote for a game. It's that bad.

On the plus side the game looks good, the animations are pretty and the SFX are great, I was having fun the first few levels and when I was just running around mindlessly cutting trees and talking to friends. But I can do that playing other games which I enjoy more.
Meh.
