Overall fun to play, but still has a lot of problems that need to be adressed.

Performance
Overall pretty bad. Going into safezones your fps drops by about 50-60%

Bugs
Lots of bugs with npcs (weird path finding, running through closed doors, shooting through walls etc.)

Gameplay
The worst however is the unbalanced economy.

You venture out, complete a quest and get 500 ingame money. During that you may get a few broken weapons.
Most of the weapons can't be sold, because they are too damaged. However repairing them costs nearly 3x the selling price.
The few weapons that can be sold plus the miscellaneous loot you got maybe gets you 5k, if you found some artifacts maybe 10k.

Repairing your own equipment however, can easily go above 25k within an hour of exploration.
Repairing your broken armor: ~10k
Reparing your broken mask: ~10k
Primary + secondy weapon: ~10k, maybe even 10k each

To add all of that, killing any type of "animal" or generally speaking anything non-human, is a complete waste of time, bullets and money. They can be absolute bullet sponges and damage your gear pretty significantly, while you get nothing for killing them. No skinning, collecting anything rare from the mobs or any type of bounty. Additionally, there is zero hit response, so you feel like shooting a moving sack of potatoes.

Currently, I see no point in upgrading your weapons as you will waste all of your money repairing them. You are better of throwing away broken guns and using the half-broken ones found in npcs.

Edit
In my opinion the game could also use some type of skill/leveling system. It takes 10 seconds to reaload 7 bullets in a shotgun. Thats defintly something that could be leveled up to be faster and still be realistic. Same could be done with weapon switching.

Flying your spaceship is not really a feature of the game, its more like an interuption/break between the loading screens. You basically fast-travel every minute to get from one mission-relevant character to the next.

You start on a planet -> Fast travel with loadingscreen
In orbit you may encouter something/someone or nothing happens. Open the map and choose where to land, or fly to another planet or another system -> Fast travel with loadingscreen
And from here the cycle repeats endlessly. You basically jump from planet to planet or system to system with your map and different loadings screens. Theres no need for your ship anymore, other than jumping to not explored systems.

Besides that: theres no diversity in planet structures. After 5hrs you have basically seen any planet structure there is, except from the few manually made ones for missions. Same with fauna, flora and ores. So exploring is pretty much just a gamble of wether the landing zone you selected will spawn a good looking area or not.

And some other bullet points:
good graphics
very few bugs (at least for me)
nice mission variety
The "biggest" city in Bethesda games (claimed by Bethesda) is just a bunch of zones, seperated by loading screens. Not even the trader (a single room/house) can be accessed without a loading screen.

Little update:
I put 10 more hours after my initial review into the game and it is the most boring RPG i have ever played. None of your dialog choices matter, theres a single interesting quest, which isnt even the main story, and the literall plot of the main story is, that is there is no story ... (i didn't finish the game, as I couldn't bring myself to continue and just checked some videos for the plot)

You start the game with an activated voice chat and an open mic.
Every round I heard a conversation, I guess in the living room, between a mom and her child and other stuff like that, and the guys probably didn't even know it.
Who thought this was a good idea.

Building, the core mechanic of this whole game, is implemented in the most unintuitive way I have ever seen.
In the "easy" Ship Builder, I need more than two minutes to place a single small metal sheet plate, which snaps to completly random stuff of my ship, but not the part I want it to.
Within the real ship builder, you can only controll the camera view, which is also extremly unintuitiv.

From what i figured out so far, if you really want to build your own ship, you will probably spent more time building it, than flying it.

I played for 4 hours now, during which I only mined asteroids. I made about 40k Ingame, which isn't even enough to buy the smallest ship ingame. And "mining" is literally starting from the station, looking towards the asteroid field, accelerate and then go make yourself some pasta because it takes about 5-10 minutes until you reach the first asteroids. And on the way back, because your are now loaded with a bunch of materials, it will take about double that time.

Ofcourse there are also a lot of bugs, like your ship dissapearing during editing or stuff vanishing from your inventory after you click on it. Most of these are neglectable, as they will probably be fixed within a few patches.

- Kein Day/Night Cycle von NPC's
