While not a perfect game, Sonic Frontiers is most certainly a step in the right direction. I haven't had the overwhelming urge to come back to a Sonic game after attempting to play something else in quite some time, but Frontiers just kept running around in the back of my mind until I completed it 100%.

While there are some issues, like Sonic not knowing whether to wall run, or if he's in 2D or 3D sometimes, overall the experience was fun, had plenty of references to older Sonic games for the fans to reminisce on, and simultaneously the most calming yet BANGING soundtrack to date.

Personally? I give it like an 8/10, and I hope that Sonic Team learns from this games highs and lows to bring us even greater games in the future. Maybe we'll finally get our 10/10 game one of these days.
