Cool and ambitious little VN, especially for being the first one that Leaf created.

It strives to be different and even manages to surprise me with refreshing ideas, especially towards the end and how he presents the closure of the story.

I liked the art and music, often the biggest mistake i've seen in first time VNs is that they try to look too much like the japanese counterparts, but not as good. Or they go for the safe and for the most time generic "moe" like artstyle.
The music was very pleasing and managed to enhance almost all of the scenes.

There are some things that can be improved for the next VN, not all of the "main" cast of characters were that memorable for me, they needed a bit more of development and backstory. But the main duo Lorelei and Quentin had a really great dynamic.

So i'm already looking forward to your next VN Leaf, i'm sure it will surprise me for entire different reasons than Anomie did and i appreciate that you want to create more unique experiences in this amazing medium :)

it's a dream come true to see this game finally localized, thanks to all the people responsible for this amazing work, it continues to be the best localization work on a jrpg i've had the pleasure to experience!

For me it's definitely the most enjoyable and emotional trails game out there and i find it hard to believe that a future game can top this, especially for the non-typical jrpg structure it has and the bigger focus on dungeon crawling and worldbuilding this time around are so refreshing.

I relly enjoyed the doors in-between all the dungeon crawling, thanks to them they've managed to get rid of the pacing problems the earlier games had sometimes. So in that sense the meat of the story is filler-free, while the doors are here for most of the character development and worldbuilding.

Kevin Graham and Ries Argent are some of the best main protagonists, its refreshing to finally see more mature/experienced characters at the head of the group.

The more dark and foreboding atmosphere are at the center of attention this time and not more in the background like we've been accustomed to with the other games in the series, it's certainly another highlight of the 3rd.

I really hope this game will be a success, so that the two Crossbell games can finally come over and close the circle!

After 10 hours of mind twisting puzzles i can already say that it's one of the most satisfying puzzle games out there with the right amount of challenge and perfect learning curve.

it really learns you a new way of thinking with its unique time travel idea, the most difficult part of all is to avoid creating paradoxes and there are some puzzles where it seems impossible without creating one. It looks easy but in the end you realize that your approach was flawed, in some cases even the start, so you have to revise your idea and think in the way the game learned you to think!

Induction has everything a great puzzle game needs to have and offers so much more with its ingenious game design. It offers an insane amount of content,a great and always fair challenge, absolutely worth it!!!

one of the most relaxing and clever puzzle games out there.

It's already one of the goty contenders of this year for me, what an emotional ride, it really shows that with a simple idea you can create something deep and something that you care about.

It also helps that the music is brillantly placed and timed, it's full of visually stunning moments too!

I wish more puzzle games would have the same effect on me, it really changes your perspective of what's really important in the videogame medium!

what a game, I rarely feel this way anymore with horror themed ones but this was thoroughly an amazing experience.

I felt similar with the Silent Hill series or last year with Fata Morgana, these haunting, creepy, depressing and moody stories. And at the end of the journey you feel empty inside.

As a Point & Click Horror game it really offers unique puzzles, not the common Trial & error ones, some of them are really clever. There aren't many enemies and i'm glad, they feel a lot more intimidating this way.

So really try it out, even if you're normally not a fan of this type of game!

This game oozes atmosphere, you're alone in a world without sunlight, rotten and on the brink of destruction. You are the only light in this world, it's your mission to restore the sun and bring even a little bit of hope back to the remaining people.

A really relaxing game overall, without combat, it's entirely puzzle and exploration focused.
Clever 4th wall breaking and a really moving finale!

one of the most depressing and emotional visual novels combined with sublime soundtrack and unique artstyle.

You can't miss this gem, especially if you're sick of the standard anime styled VNs.

Normally i would wait until i finished or put some hours till i write a review, but with Mecha Ritz there is no such thing as common sense :)

It's a perfect blend of modern and classic shmups elements full with moments of adrenaline! It can be overwhelming, fast, exhilarating, chaotic, gorgeous but the most important thing, it's fun, especially thanks to the dynamic difficulty that switches in real time so that it's always fair and a challenge for the player.

regardless of whether you're a veteran or a newcomer, I would even say if you are new to the genre or want to try something with fresh ideas, modern gameplay and retro look then Mecha Ritz is perfect as a starting point!!!

It's already a classic in the genre for me and i could easily see it in my personal top5!

One of the best Visual Novels that you can play on Steam at the moment. One that excels at characterization, at the end of the journey you'll feel empathy for almost all the characters of the game, many tragic moments that have a powerful effect on you, because of the affection you've gained for them during the journey. They have all a deep background story and motivations for all the actions they'll take during the VN.

It's not a VN about the plot twists and the end result, it's about the journey you have with the characters and the world.
Don't get me wrong, it has some really good plot twists and intriguing mysteries, but it's not the main focus and strongest point of the VN.

I liked all of Nakazawas Visual Novels, but they are really different and not comparable, they have elements in common but that's it, I/O for example did not have as much focus on the characters as in Root Double, but the worldbuilding was even more believable, and the overall plot really complex and it didn't gave you the answers at the end whereas Root Double answers all your questions!

Compared to Remember11 it's even more different, Route A with more focus on tension and pacing of the story is the most similar section you'll find in Root Double.
But the rest of the vn, especially the seCond half is entirely different than Anything he's Done before!
