I'm still baffled about why Paradox gave up on this brute gem. Yes, there was an issue at launch, but the potential of this game is relatively untapped. The game is a fulsome grand strategy game, and another great title by Paradox borrowed some mechanics from it. Worth playing.

Jury is still out on this game. I recommend it but only if you know what you are getting into.

I need to be upfront: the 75.8 hrs I have on record at the time of posting this was 100% either on newbie island or in Queue. I never made it to Myrland, which is the main land, but to me will ever be referred as the unreachable utopia land... I see only one alternative to save this game and it would be to stop the servers now, stop selling the game, go back to Beta where it should have never left, and encourage your current "player" best to test the game in Beta with a promised of compensation. Then, when all is tested, re-launch doing a wipe.

They are stubbornly stating that there will be no wipe not that the game has launch, which creates a lot of unfair situation for 90% of their current player base.

I wish them no harm, and I still hope for a successful game at the end, but they have to be better at managing this crisis first and it seems to me, they are taking all the wrong approach.

In the same vein as Rimworld, but with few twist that makes it original. You would recognize the same features for Jobs priority, morale buff and debuff, toons skills, etc. But what separates this games from Rimworld is :

First, you can build up in height and depth (Z-axis) and therefore you can build up Castle with dungeons and tower and tower gates with archer on top.

Second, it is only medieval. Build castle and ♥♥♥♥!

Third, the Tech Tree is original as ♥♥♥♥, never seen something like that. You basically writes Chronicles, once you have an amount, you can learn a new tech, but you keep those books in your inventory.

Any how, this is a great game, very difficult (providing you play at difficult mode) but real fun.

I remember the early days and the let down from the developers on all what was initially promised. But they have come around and these days at the moment of posting this, the game is really enjoyable, with a lot of features being added in major patch. I recommend it.

This game just keeps getting better. They keep adding content and graphic improvement. I just wished the console player would remain segregated from real gamers

I just love the game. Seems like there is always something to do, it is really diversified and there are several ways to acheive the end game. This is a relax, solo game. If you liked Stardew Valley, you will love this one.

Great concept, awesome potential. Very badly executed and produced. This is my summary. I have been tracking this game since the early days post-indigogo campaign (that failed). That was before the time of LiF:YO. I just loved the concept in general and Bobik and his devs team seemed to be very energic about putting a real medieval simulator. Then....came the PvPer. All they want to do. Battle in small skirmish, war declaration with no consequence whate-so-ever... the dream of having a heavy political / strategy game was gone the moment they put emphasis on combat with no end. This game is dead, there is just no hope. Even the patch with sieges that they have promised for a while now will not fix the root of the problem, it will just mean that the griefer that remains in that game for some reasons will have a mean to destroy all the castles and claims that are long abandon. This is a really sad story! This could have been magnificient with Realms, Kingdoms, Peasants, plots and strategy, commerce, intrigue.... Nope, just a veery lame medieval shooter with some farmville aspect to it!

Dear CKII haters because Paradox happen to sell their DLC,

I have been playing this game since 2012, bought all DLC even the crapy one (Sunset anyone?!) and for the last years, this game remain loaded on my desktop. I bought the DLC mainly not on release but in package durring summer sale. This game is constently developped, new great features are added and despite being 5 years old, the game remain fun and current.

Small good game, good story telling and very funny.
