This version is not really objectively inferior in any way; I'm not saying people should go buy the vanilla version instead, if it was still available. It's just... there's no reason to buy this if you've already played the game. Unless you're looking to play with your newbie friend or you just have a nostalgia boner for the PvP, you'll be wasting your money.
I wanted to write my review because I was on the fence about buying this game for the longest time, as someone that has well over a thousand hours in the vanilla version. When it finally went on sale and I spent the money, I just didn't feel like it was worth it at all.
