EDIT: Been playing the game since launch. I really enjoy the game when things go well, but the level and amount of bugs, crashes, and almost daily issues will keep this review as a "not recommended" until said issues are addressed.

Easily one of the best theme park style MMO’s on the market. Steam release, coupled with the new player experience update makes this one of the only MMO’s worth playing that will have the longevity that makes dedicating time in the world a positive experience.

Excellent title which bridges civ building with micro-scale quest and survival elements. At around 60 hours in I am nowhere near finished with my first dynasty, and can see plenty of replayable potential with a game like this. Players of games such as banished, AoE, Anno, etc. would enjoy Medieval Dynasty. Highly recommended, with an active dev team to boot; just beware that the start of the game starts off much slower than the aforementioned like-titles. Once you get the hang of it, Medieval Dynasty is not a game to be missed in this genre.

Edit: My main recommendation to the dev team would be to work on combat. An overhaul and future focus on combat would set this game above and beyond any other title in this genre. The current combat system does not take away from the overall experience one will get with MD, but a more robust system would allow for even more interesting emergent gameplay in the open world, especially with the new shield/armor content being released later on in the roadmap. Secondarily, I feel this game is just asking for workshop mod support; the amount of content that could be created here with MD's identity as the building blocks is nearly endless.

As much as I love New World, I cannot begin to express my disappointment in AGS for blatantly backtracking on their promises regarding fresh start servers. This is utterly unacceptable.

On sale, worth it for just the campaign alone. Multiplayer is unique and extremely rewarding, if not subject to a learning curve. Not on sale? Same applies. It's great, buy it.

Early Access Review
Definitely in a good state for being EA, content in it's current fashion is rivaling that of Warband, with little to no game-breaking issues. I have personally not seen a single crash, and aside from a few visual glitches, the EA build has been thus far fairly flawless. If you are a fan of any M&B games, you will love Bannerlord in its current state. it is also fairly accessible to new players as well. Recommended, and worth the wait.

I cannot recommend this game in it's current state, due mainly to Gaijin's refusal to fix even fundamental and rudimentary aspects of this game, and instead insist on pouring new, unbalanced content into the game, leaving behind the concept of balance in both vehicles or maps, not to mention the absolutely atrocious state of naval and simulator. Cash grab at best, and I was sucker for this at one point. Until these issues are remedied, I will say stay away.

Yeah so I bought this game on the 90% sale and I almost refunded it just so I could buy it at full price. It's that good. If you like movement-based and narrative-driven titles then buy this, even at full price.

Rome 2 got much better with the past months' updates. Recommended for any fans of the series, and often good for those looking for an intro to CA's entries.
