This is one of the best games I have played in a long time. Excellent dungeons and dragons adaptation and I am really impressed with the amount of lore and depth of characters throughout.

There is quite a bit to like about this game if you are into survival games.

It's an enjoyable game that is even more enjoyable when played with friends!

I recommend with the caveat that it's not going to be a game that appeals to typical mmorpg players. The world overall is pretty small and there is only a light story that holds things together. Beyond the light story is a bunch of repeated quests to help your faction or company or settlement. It may not be your forever lover game but it could be fun for a few months and maybe that's all it needs to be.

Yes there have been some server issues and there are some bugs early on.
But I have been enjoying the heck out of the game so far and that's the most important thing to me.

This is a pretty incredible coop survival experience. It's very impressive how well thought out the game feels to play and I really look forward to seeing the planned updates as they move forward with this very addictive and fun to play game. Great job Iron Gate!

A really enjoyable game that is one of the best MMORPG even in 2021.

This is a really well done survival game. Is it still a work in progress? Yes. But it has a great deal going for it and is going through rapid development during the early access phase currently under way. I'll give the same word of caution I give with all of these open world survival games: It's likely best played on a private server unless you are willing to experience the typical griefer prone "PvP" with this kind of game. Tons of fun can be had with the game.

Cannot support the greed shown with how they implemented paid mods. Game uninstalled.

I've decided to not recommend this game to people because of two main issues:

Controversy over paid airdrops aside, the developers seem to be using scarecity of scavengable loot in the normal "free-to-play" world to entice people to buy airdrops. This means they aren't really interested in if the game is fun to play without buying airdrops. If things change with the basic loot in the game where it's actually fun without airdrops, then I'll happily remove this issue as a concern.

The game has a number of really bad issues that ruin much of the fun right now. First, duping is out of control and no server wipes likely given SOE charing $5 for airdrops during alpha. Second, player characters can move in the game before player made structures render which allows easy base raiding. And third, players store large amounts of items offline since they can create several characters per server. These three things combined make the game broken. If you had dreams of building a base to defend your stuff that doesn't work and the best "base" is an offline character. Until these things are completely resolved, the game isn't worth investing any time really trying to play as a survival game.

Issues aside, it is a game with potential but it is mainly a shallow game right now.

* More playable than DayZ or Rust
* Lacks a meaningful survival experience
* Zombies are ignorable
* Lack of any in-game danger means players are so bored
* Bored players are turning this into a mostly a free-for-all deathmatch

Some fun and funny moments can be had and it's best played as a bandit right now.

Not enirely worth it for $20 just now.
If you do buy, please do not spend any money on in-game purchases.
