There are two servers, one is for solo players who don't want to play with others, with most of the interactions with other players limited to trading and "helping" the noobs, which is a really weird aspect of Wakfu social life because people are spending thousands of hours playing by themselves then they feel the need to help noobs by power leveling them, when in fact it's insanely easy to XP by yourself, but the "helpers" absolutely does not want you to know how to play by yourself, because they want to feel good by helping you, that's why they leveled and geared up for. Players who accept to play with you are disconnecting their second account, it's an awful feeling to be helped constantly by people who just like feeling good by helping, instead of wanting to help each other, it's not equal.

There is a mono account server, which is my recommendation, though due to the balancing and progression curve issue people play exclusively in closed group at higher level.

Also the enchantment system is so broken it makes you need to spend litteral hundreds of hours on your gears to be able to feel like you are playing the same game as people of the same level as you even if they have the same gear as you. And by the way the enchantment is a litteral slot machine where you spend a copy of the item you want to improve to roll the slot 8 times hoping to get good colors, then you have to spend a lot of ingame money to get sublimation, like crazy amount. I did that, I am so done, it's not fun. You basically have to be unemployed to be able to keep up. One would expect an enchantment system to have a decreasing yield, but not Wakfu, the yield is reversed, and you feel pushed to do it, and the game designer of the game defended his work by saying "if you don't like it, it's okay, you can choose to stay bad" which just shows how little they play their own game thinking it's fun to stay inferior to others in an MMO.

Endgame dungeons are a chore and it does not feel rewarding to win when other unemployed grinder are the one controlling the market because they can just do it easily with 3 time your damage output. Meaning they just have to take care of the strat once in a 4 turns battle while on the other side you are having an actual boss battle even though you are supposed to play the same game as them.

PvP is the worst I have ever seen in any game due to the same broken mechanics, most battles results are known as soon as you see you opponents investment into their gear, nullifying the strategy aspect of this game completely as gear differences are humongous between most two players.

To end in a positive note, the early game is delightful, quests are enjoyable, the game is beautiful, the characters are charming, the game is very popular to new players for those reason and if you are only wanting to play the early game, it's a good game, I just recommend avoiding it if you want to play it like an actual MMO.

It's... too little ?

It's easy and repetitive, there are a lot of mathematical operation that could have been and a lot of logistical challenges that are simply not there.

It's good at the beginning but gets stale real fast and there is no point replaying it at all. It's not expensive and still is a few good hours of play, but I feel like that money could still be better spent in that genre, put just a little more money and you could have a better factory game, those games are usual incredible time sink but not this one, I am completely done with it.

Game about smashing aliens and robots. Good fun.

In the hope people mad about the account linking stuff come accross this review I would like to explain a few technical things people seem to have gravely misunderstood.

Account linking does not give any access to your Steam account, it's this other way around, it will allow you to log into PSN with your steam account, as such there is no way for hypothetical PSN hackers to access your Steam account.

Account linking also does not share much information, your billing informations and your purchase history is not available to the connected application, according to the steam documentation, the application can only access what you can display on your profile page.

I do fully agree that the requirement to link account is unnecessary, but let's stop right now spreading misinformation about security or thinking Sony will sell your data, please.

The basis is interesting, the music is either great or awful and repetitive, the replayability seems null currently.

I bought the game because I was kinda drawn into from reviews that said that is not broken and also I watched a gameplay video that was in fact, too short I guess.

The game is unbalanced beyond belief, you have accidents every day, you have rioters that disables buildings causing even more discontent, also the rioters don't work during strikes but the building still requires workers, also the rioters kills many people, it makes you so deep into overwork that it ruins your game easily.

But also you can get into softlock with research which happened to me because the game urged me to jump before collecting all science from the system.

Also you get flooded with non-workers people that takes up precious ressources and the population management is annoying as the only way to auto assign new people is to say where they might go if a limit of both workers and non workers is reached. And workers dies at a constant rate due to the accidents and riots.

The game is playable but you kinda have to know the game already, that is not a pleasant way to experience the game imo and as such I can't recommand it, it will probably be fixed but in no way I will recommend a game that may get better. I will update my review when it gets better, if I don't forget about it.

The story progression is alright, the sound design of the beginning is great, the card game animations are good, battles are snappy and satisfying... half the game.

But the game is very easy, an entire portion of the game have awful music and sound (opinion, but I usually don't dislike 8-bit music), expect at best 15 hours for the main story if not replaying for achievements like I did.

I like the game, it's great, it has its flaws though. The card play in the main game seems secondary to the "outside" story, the game lose most its value once you play it once. However, the dev are currently beta testing a free content update that adds a challenge mode for the first part of the game, allowing to replay it with more variations and increasing difficulty, adding tens of hours of playtime.

It's better to go in blind for the main story, that's what makes this game unique.

Early Access Review
I love it, however it is early access, but a proper one, it is stable and enjoyable, but still lack in many ways. Still worth it in my opinion.

I like the vertical builds, the water mechanics, the simple yet effective beaver needs system that improves efficiency, and they are cute beavers.

What a mess this game has become, there are game breaking bugs and it seems even worse balanced than before ? I did not even buy the DLCs.

It's not bad, the core concept of adopting cultures is fun.
The art is good and the music is perfect.

But it's not balanced at all, I hope they are going to address that problem at least a little, but other games are not balanced either... at least this one is fun and runs fast.

The cheating situation is critical, every game has at least one cheater, they are all playing "legit" hacking, but the game always end up with the cheaters being a god tier player first and last quarter, and the worst ever the rest of it, they are now playing for time extensions intentionally to annoy you the most, they are no longer cheating to win, but to make you lose your time, it's absolutely ridiculous, I am 5k elo, it's low, but I can't go much over because every game outcomes depend on a couple cheaters.

It's sad, this game has solid gameplay, it's CS, it's the best FPS ever, but it's utterly unplayable, it's full of people who are having fun by making you lose your time.
