One of the best games ever and easily the best Battlefield game. I'd recommend getting it via Origin tho.

They add new features and better graphics but the core issues that exist for years have not been fixed at all. Very disappointed.

Definitively one of the best racing sims out there.

Infinite loading screens in multiplayer every second race. This issue existed in F1 2017 and it's still not fixed.
Game overall is awesome but I can't recommend multiplayer as long as this issue exists.

Edit: 10 patches later and the online experiance is still absolute trash. I am very disappointed.

I was super hyped about this game and it turned out to be a really good game at the beginning. But there are so many gamebreaking bugs in this game.
I loved Skyrim. There were a ton of bugs aswell, but I mostly didn't care about them because it was a single player game. There was an auto save every 5 minutes and the ability to do a quicksave.
But this game is different. There is no autosave, there is no possibility to do a quicksave. You have to purchase a Saviour Schnaps to save your game once, and one Schnaps costs almost a fortune!
There is the ability to save the game if you go to sleep, but I found myself that this doesn't work every time. It is so frustrating if you have to play the same 30 minutes of gameplay again just because this game doesn't have the option to save the game at all times.

I will change my review if I can properly save my game without having to worry about my progress or bugs that will make you reload your last save from 30min ago.

tl;dr: It’s a really good F1 game but it lacks some features and details.

I have played this game for over 150h now. So, here’s what I like and dislike about it.
My setup:
Logitech G920
All assists off

Force Feedback is pretty good and the car handling feels great. If you are on a wheel it's definetly a good choice.

Menu:
Not the best menu in my opinion. It lacks mouse input and is not very well designed. You can’t see all the possible options, you have to scroll through all of them.
I would love to see some statistics like «races entered», «total km», «most played track»,…

Single Player:

Time Trial: Going for the fastest time possible sounds pretty simple, but it could be a lot better. As we all know, Mercedes had the strongest Car during the 2017 F1 season. So you basically have to chose a Mercedes on almost any track, if you want the fastest possible time. Yea, it is realistic like that, but definetly not super fun, if you are not a Mercedes fan. I would love to see equal performance (like in multiplayer) on all Modern Cars at least for Time Trial.
Or: give us the option to filter the Leaderboard by cars to see who was the fastest in a Williams, Renault, Sauber, etc.
Same for Classic Cars. If you want to drive a good time, you have to choose the 2004 Ferrari. F1 cars before 2000 are not competitive.
I like that the leaderboard shows, what kind of assists people used to produce their time, but I would like to see an option to filter people with or without assists.

Career Mode: It is really good. Collecting R&D to upgrade your car is something I enjoy, BUT it takes a LOT of time to upgrade your car to its maximum.
The AI can be pretty stupid sometimes and I wish they would act differently.
I wish you could skip practice sessions. If you don’t want to do it you have to enter practice 1 and then advance to qualifying while having a ton of loading screens which is pretty annoying.
You will get «Invitational Events» from time to time. They are fun, but there is no option to skip them (just like the practice sessions).

Classic Cars: They are awesome! Please add them to F1 2018 aswell. I would also love to see some more other Tracks, not just the 20 official ones from the season.

Multiplayer:
Well, Multiplayer… It can be a lot of fun. But to be honest, there is at least one or two full ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ in every Lobby who is just driving unfair, crashing people or waiting 1 lap for them to block them or knock them out of the race. This is complete ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and almost made me flip my table for a couple of times. And yes, there is ghosting in this game, but it doesn’t work very well.
So here is what I want codemasters to do in order to improve Multiplayer (ghosting):
- People who are a lap behind should always be ghosting! They normally don’t care about blue flags and are ruining the race. I have won races where the leader got knocked out by a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ backmarker & that ruins the experiance.
- People who are on track at a speed that is a lot below racepace (people who crashed or people who rejoin the track for example) should be ghosting until they reach a decent amount of speed. I remember a race on Monza where two people in front of me made contact and someone crashed into the wall and stopped from 250 km/h to 0 all of sudden. I was unable to react but his car did not ghost and completely wrecked me.
- People who are ghosting should have an icon over their cars. I have accidently crashed into other people (or the wall) because I tried to avoid cars that were standing still and looked like they were not ghosting, but started ghosting the second I hit them. Ghosting is super random and therefore super confusing.

Multiplayer has a lot of other issues I'd like to address:
- A servers is hosted by someone in the Lobby. If that person leaves the session, the Lobby gets completely buggy. The game tries to migrate the host, but that doesn't work well. If the host leaves during a race, it will display to every player, that they are leading the race. After the race there is a timer of 3 minutes. If the timer runs out, you sometimes have to wait another 5 minues (or longer) to even get to the race results and your multiplayer points. The loading screen could also take forever (sometimes 15+ minuets). That is absolutely annoying. Please give us actual servers!
- Good online lobbies are rare. Most of them are filled with one or two people. Mostly there is just one or two lobbies with more than ten players. In order to fix that, I would love to see the ability to play cross-platform to increase the amount of players.
Because there are not that many players playing multiplayer, people all around the world join the same lobby which lead to lag and de-sync. It is super hard to overtake a player that is lagging, without crashing into him because he suddendly teleported into you.
- Like in Time Trial, I would love to see who is using driving assists.
- Give us the possibility for an in-game chat in a lobby. Vote-kicking a player rarely happens because you need 50+% of the players in a lobby to vote against someone. An in-game chat could help. It also gives the possibility to comunicate with each other and apologise if you hit someone a little bit too hard by accident. The in-game voice chat is pure cancer and people normaly mute it because people abuse it (e.g.: someone played music for a whole race, super annoying!).

Conclusion
The game is really good if everything works fine. But not everything always works like that. There are a lot of things that need to be improved.
Overall I give it a thumbs up.

I don't get why people are not recommending the game because of the microtransactions inside the game. YOU CAN COMPLETE THE GAME WITHOUT PAYING EXTRA GUYS!!! Pretty much everyone knew there are microtransactions in the game but you all bought the game anyway...?!?
You bought the game because you probably loved "Shadow of Mordor" and this game is pretty similar, if not better than SoM. If you don't like microtransactions, simply don't use it? If you love this game, the microtransaction-system is a great way to support the developer and they will even reward you for that. (I did/will not pay extra)

oh & btw. the game is well optimized and runs smooth on day 1. No bugs or crashes so far for me.
Are you new to this franchise? Then I recommend you to play "Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor" first. It's very similar to this game and obviously a lot cheaper.
Have you played Shadow of Mordor? Then I really recommend you to get this one aswell. Full price is totally worth it.

If this game was released just for consoles, PC players would cry because they didn't get it. BUT PC players got it (many for free) and everyone is still complaining. Welcome to 2016.
