Detailed & Honest review for: The Walking Dead | No Spoilers outside marked.
Just saying, I have never cried, laughed, loved and related to characters this well in a video-games before in a long time.
The Story is a masterpiece, the atmosphere is pure craftsmanship and I am not one to pedestal a game by any means but this is a story I highly recommend anyone to pick up and get into.

PROS:

- Story, oh god the story, it is indescribable in a review, it is truly a roller coaster of emotions that I can only get you to experience by trying it yourself through till the end, I don't get too hearty with games often but the acting and voice direction is marvellous and the best I have seen in a Telltale game since.

- Characters: All the characters have realistic and relatable traits, some you will love and some you will hate, it gets you involved and really allows you to move your own path through such a worldwide epidemic.

- Freedom of choice: Although arguable you can't choose not to do certain things throughout the game which I myself stumbled on a few which I thought were just mistakes waiting to happen it does balance it out by allowing a huge variety of different personalities almost you can take as you part playing Lee, you can try and save and be neutral with everyone or run it alone and allow anyone and everyone to die once given the choice, however as you play you will realise it's not as easy as you may think, being neutral with everyone has downsides to other characters and siding with just the one will make the others respect you less, choose wisely.

- Art direction: Some people like it some people hate it, personally I like the art direction used throughout Telltales games, it adds to the gritty realism of the outbreak inside the Walking Dead but also it as you would expect does make it true to form with it's original story it's based from inside the comic books, it also can run on much lower end computers/laptops now which is brilliant for any gamer looking for a story to really get into.

- Statistics: Although minor I do thoroughly enjoy the concept of the chapters ending with a scoreboard showing the percentages of people who chose the two sided story changing options throughout the game.

CONS:

- Graphics: The game is becoming outdated, most notable of this is inside the 4th chapter of the game their appears a lot more walkers and piles of them, the body's look like literal mush and features are barely able to be maked out, this is not due to the art direction of the game just the lack of detail and of course the dating graphics through time.

- Settings: The settings although I wasn't expecting much are mediocre at best, you have the basics which you need but I would love to see some Hz settings or optimisation possibly in a redux or update for larger display settings as the max is you typical 1080p resolution which is decent for most of your average gamers.

- Unimportant choices: SOME SPOILERS HERE / SKIP IF YOU DON'T WANT TO KNOW ANYTHINGAnyone who has played the game throughout will know their are some parts placed here and their which are just plain annoying and make the story drive on to the end the developers wanted, for instance the choice between Duck and Shaun is pointless not changing anything bar one voice line and seemingly nothing else & the biggie when Lee realised Clementine was missing and you go to pick up the walkie talkie you have no choice but to let the zombie attack you, you can't use your gun or beat the quicktime which is just annoying but understandable "story" wise.

Final Statement & Rating:

Although the cons may seem a biggie to some, it is important to realise the pros outweigh them hugely, The story is just perfect and it does have repeat ability value for achievement hunters or those looking to try a whole different path of choices from their usual, I had a lot of fun with this and I believe you will also.

Score - 8.5/10
