expectations were high, and rightfully so. the game is an improvement in some areas and in others it feels like going from a high end pc to a ps1. as of writing this game is still ever so buggy, like since ive owned it for almost a month i haven't seen the first hot fix or update to the game.

the cons:
enemy ai is just block and dodge most of your attacks, sometimes it feels like i'm not playing a dying light game but a rpg. its not like the original at all.

zombies so far as i've seen it just take two to three hits to kill even with better weapons. if you liked cutting through hordes in the first game, i wouldn't expect it here.

they had claimed you could play it with a friend 100% through and through, but in the tutorial you cant play with friends and it takes up to 2 hours to complete, so play it before you and your friend go to play.

parkour feels weird in the first you felt like you were in control, now you have to relearn it almost completely as its a lot different, and in some cases its worse.

level based enemies are not the best it feels like you have to play it like dark souls or something. for this game it doesn't stick all to great.

in all the cons wont let me say you should buy it, it isn't the worst game i've played but so far i enjoyed the first a lot better, there are some areas i really like and thought were great but in all some of these feel too bad. combat feels wrong for this game. there are moments where you feel like in total the game was poorly written and i mean like terribly written. in some other areas it feels well written, but your basically by yourself the entire time unless you have friends. there is a point were a game is trying to be challenging way to much, and it takes away from the game. if a game is marketed to be a hard game that will take time then i wouldn't care as much. the first dying light gets more updates and more events, this one feels like they took the money and ran. i cant tell you how to spend your money but i cannot tell you that this is a good option as to me it doesn't feel that way.

update 3/31/23 combat is still the same no matter where you go every enemy is at least a 3 hit kill. no matter the rating of the area you are going to all zombies are the same level you are. volatiles are basically invincible with roughly 2k health. even with the best weapons and upgrades good luck taking one in hand to hand combat.i have yet to play the dlc but from what i can tell from npc conversations its basically bozac horde just instead of fighting the clock you fight enemies until you win? don't get me wrong bozac horde was fun and all but that was more of a challenge pack then a dlc. the game feels challenging at first as you are trying to level up but then it just becomes if i touch the street i have to fight for 10 minutes. the part that made the first game fun was you mindlessly taking out a horde with out it being a hassle. they added back guns, but expect to grind if you really want to use them. the part about the first game i really enjoyed is that you didnt have to grind for everything. you could relax and play the game, this one is you want a decent weapon take 15-20 minutes of grinding for one upgrade. its kinda a rant, i just hate that a lot of really good games got a sequel that doesnt take what was fun from the original and take a spin with it. this felt more like they took it and decided they like fantasy games in which you must be high enough level to take on this foe.
