Despite this game lacking a well-sized playerbase, the game has a ton of charm. It's a Goldsrc game, so you can expect that late 90's/early 2000's polygon 3D. It wasn't meant to be super expansive, but that's really what makes it beautiful. The base game provides a Quake experience in Valve fashion.

Regardless, if you don't have the game, wait for a sale and just buy the Valve complete pack. I think it generally goes for under $15 these days. The game would be worth the $5 it costs on its own if it weren't for the lack of players, but without the certainty of anybody being in one of the servers, it's sensible to just wait until you can grab it alongside all of Valve's other offerings. It will be more active then, anyways, as people usually hop on this and Ricochet after buying the pack, because they've never heard of the games, and are intrigued. They're interesting pieces of the company's history, for sure.
