End Space is a space combat game similar to those old Freespace ones. Its VR adaptation is by far the best I have seen in a space combat game, particularly respect to the controllers. They took the best from X Rebirth: handling the ship with arm movements on regular VR controllers and shooting by pointing with the helmet (all these is optional though). And they added up some of the throttle control from Eve Valkyrie: throttle-braking fight. The ship lacks some movements that would be good in combat, like strafe sideways/up-down, and in general, the ship seems lacking agility. Also, the speed doesn´t feel very real. Graphics are really good, and the game is very fun in general. I have tried at least 4 VR space combat games, and this is the one that brings the best combat VR experience so far. Your ship can be upgraded but I´m not sure if you get a different one as the story progresses. It also has a nice old-style single player campaign, with a continuity that I haven’t seen for a while. The story is not that interesting, but it is continuous, and it makes sense from level to level. This is not a game like X Rebirth and Elite, which IMO are more like Space simulators. IMO those are much better games, but if you are looking for a Space combat Freespace style (not Freelancer style), then you should definitely try this.

I didn´t know the true VR shooter genera before playing this game. Robo recall and all those types of games are mostly static wave shooters. But this game is different. It feels like a traditional FPS game, only in VR, which is great.
This game looks a lot like DOOM BFG (2012): The graphics are similar, both in quality and style (for better or worst). The general feeling of the surroundings is similar. The weapons are similar (although its use in VR is radically different). And, you also get to shoot a variety of possessed people in a fairly big, yet fairly homogeneous, sci-fi closed environment. Also, just like at a classic FPS, there is the clear feeling of progression, which IMO is lacking in most VR games (maybe in most games in general).
The game plays pretty great on my gtx970, and the immersion is there for sure. Locomotion is very natural, I haven´t got dizzy while playing for about 1 hr.

I think this game was meant to be a landscape simulator, and on that is pretty beautiful. I think then the developers wanted to make a game of it, so they added some stuff that are thrown at you. The thing is though, dodging stuff is not that fun, and it actually falls into two levels: First stages: very easy, I play with my hands in my pockets and barely move. Advanced stages: you get hit all the time, you wont know how.
It would be so much better with actual controller support, may be including a sword to do something else than only dodging. I´d say the price of this should be less than 5 dollars. I wouldn´t buy it for more.

Left handed-only game, abandoned by the developers.

This game has so much potential, but unfortunately the developers have abandoned completely. The game looks like an Early access game that was just not finished: no options, no saving progression, and relevantly: you can only play with your left hand, despite the deceiving publicity of the promotion video, where the guy plays with his right hand: that´s just a lie.
So if you are left handed, by all means, buy this game for 5 dollars. If you are right handed, as most humanity is, just skip it.

Early Access Review
At its best, this game plays a lot like Rebel Galaxy, which is very fun, and the fighting strategy and gameplay gets to another level on VR. Touch controllers work very well, during the fighting part they are very effective and easy to use. Ship can be updated in a very fun way: you stuck new pieces together to make the ship stronger. On the other hand, it has some RPG and RTS elements that while interesting, they slow the game too much. At the end, you spend too much time RPGing and RTSing and too few actually fighting, which is the funniest part. This is especially problematic on VR, which is more tiring than normal gaming: dizziness and face tiring builds up in a couple of hours, and I rather spend those hours having fun (I´d love the RTS and RPG elements on regular gaming, but not on VR). There should be a simpler option available, an improving system like in Rebel galaxy (without taking out the building part, which is very fun).

Watching the little guys doing their stuff is amazing on VR, the game looks beautiful, and the touch controllers work great. As and RTS game is empty and repetitive, there are no many relevant options and you basically have to build one or two buildings of certain type to win. Very relevantly: there is no continuous gaming option, so you only get to "play god" for a little, fairly stressful time, and don´t get to see the results of your good management: It would be nice, after the level is done, to have the chance to sit back and relax, just adjusting things here and there, and spend some time watching the little guys do their stuff, which is the most beautiful aspect of this game. It would be nice to have a sort of "Free level" with much more space and building options.

I understand how most people find NMS boring: you are truly doing the same thing over and over. However, this game has something no other has: After 100 hrs playing, you still find new, amazing things (of course, if you are looking).
I enjoyed the game for about 80 hrs. Then, its repetition ended overcoming the amazing feeling of exploring the unknown. I didn´t complain: 80 hrs of enjoyment was more than enough. But I left the game for some time.

Then I played it again yesterday, and I felt that exploration feeling all over again. Comparatively, I also played Skyrim again, which is a much greater game IMO. I admired again how amazing Skyrim was, but, I knew exactly what was behind every corner. It was amazing, but I already knew it all in high detail.

That did not happen when I replayed NMS: There I was, in a wonderful planet that I had never seen before. No idea what to expect, how the night would it be, how the sunset would it look like. Yes, I was still mining and doing all that repetitive stuff, but all what I was seeing was new in so many levels.

While, no doubt, with a lot of repetitive elements, there is no game in the world that can offer an infinite level of visual replayability as NMS does. Sure, I can get bored exploring similar planets, but once in a while, NMS suddenly offers you a true miracle of procedural generation. True art made not by people, but by math. I laugh at those moments, remembering I´m the first one appreciating that beautiful landscape, I´m truly an explorer of this universe.
