this is THE game i have been looking for. i love cozy games but i hate farming--wait what? how is that possible? doing the same thing everyday is okay, that's not the problem. there is--as most people look for--a schedule everyday.
i get out of bed, check all of my production machines, check my animals, then get my commissions done and do my quests. that's my regular routine, and i love it.
i have found that with most cozy games the progression feels so slow. day 12 and i feel like im as poor off as day 1, and no story to be had. that most of my days are glued to my farm for the first few hours of the in-game-day, until oh no energy, it's bed time. it is just a farming simulator--i wanted more.
this game--oh let me tell you--there may be farming, but it doesn't feel like i am just on my crops. it doesn't feel like i am only mining or i am only doing one thing. there's so much life going on in this world. it feels so dynamic--most farming games feel static--at least for awhile.
the characters in this game are so full of life--that even ones you may hate at first you can't help but like because of how dynamic and real their personalities are. my character may not say much, but i still feel like im involved in the story.
the progression is so smooth, even if there's soo many things to do i don't feel overwhelmed. every time i think "oh--i've found the npc pattern of this game" something new happens and im amazed. the seasonal events are so awesome, the random quests that popup around the world make the characters feel alive and part of the world and story. you can't ignore every character--even if there are some you want to. and it just makes this a true story game
i came for the gameplay--staying for the gameplay and especially the story. i HAVE to know what happens to these characters, im so invested.

if you have never played this game--stop what you are doing right now, i dont care whatever is happening in your life--do it. this is one of the most beautifully crafted games to ever exist. the gameplay, the characters, the story. THE GRAPHICS!??!! they do not make games like this one anymore, i mean it's hard to when perfection was achieved in 2011.
i am jealous of you if you haven't played it--you get to experience it for your first time. NOW PLAY IT!

for a free game it's awesome! so fun to play with a friend if you have an hour or two available. excited to try out the other games!!

i just got this game, and the moment i got it i put in almost 4 hours. i had so much fun playing it, and cannot wait to play it again with my friends. it's a game that you will keep finding hidden gems even after playing for 4 hours and at only $5!! the graphics are so cute and it just feels like im a kid again playing animal crossing on the DS. except this time, im with friends :)

I like playing this game, I have 188 hours on it, for a reason. I've been playing since early access release.
So why would I put a no on the recommendation to others?
Because, it's full of bugs, and honestly it's really breaking my heart because I love making my town adorable.
At first, when I go into build mode the FPS is fine, until I close out of it. Suddenly my FPS is in the gutter and the only way to fix it is to pull up a load screen.
Then, the longer I'm in my home, the FPS starts dropping again. Not only that, but also I have found items that are bugged in my valley. I cannot pick them up with the editing tool, it's as if they're part of the land now, even though they are furniture items I placed. Then, with the game you can play with the other villagers, the load times are horrendous and more often then not whenever I do finish the game, it will crash with a black screen that never goes away.
It seems the more updates they add, the more bugs and glitches come about that make the game unplayable, and I'm very disappointed. I had thought with this latest hot fix patch notes it would have been fixed, but no it's not.
You may be wondering if it is my computer, and I assure you it is not. My computer has an i9 processor and a 3070. It can run Baldur's Gate 3 Act 3 with a load of mods seamlessly.
This rather disappoints me, as I loved the game when it first came out.

i struggle a lot with doing what i need to do in a timely fashion. hell, getting myself to do it at all. ive just downloaded this game and im going to be honest with you, leaving it open with the perfect background and my cute character as a buddy makes the idea of doing work a little less daunting. i put down my task of what i need to do and feel so happy and accomplished when i finish it because i get to press that checkmark and hear a little "DING!" telling me a job well done. i can see this turning my life around as the perfect planner and agenda that i needed.

the only thing missing are more cute outfits and character customization (which Im sure will be in time)
and the option to have my spotify playlist play with it so i can adjust the volume of it in the game to match perfectly with the background noises<3
