Great game, brilliant visuals and characters. Not too far into the story yet but really enjoying it so far, the coop feature is fantastic too, wasn't sure how it'd work but the developer has really pulled it out of the bag. Just buy it.

This game is pretty unique, the learning curve was steep but the devs have added features to help new players, such as training. Best advice is to find a random teammate and use your mic to chat.

The game is centred around PvPvE, all players have the same objective(s) and collect clues, once you have 3 clues for a particular objective you can see where it is.... if you aren't dead by this point you can make your way to the boss, attempt to kill it, banish it, collect the bounty it drops and GTFO. To say that this can be an anxious, nerve-wracking experience is an understatement. If you don't like a challenge, adrenaline rushes, dying often or cooperating with others then this isn't the game for you.

The online community is a lot less toxic than others and is especially active on the official discord server.

If you want an FPS experience you've never had before, where you learn from your lows and the highs leave you buzzing, buy it.

Brilliant game, very relaxed. I play mostly solo with a bit of multiplayer.

I never played the original release, wasn't well received due to expectations, but the game I'm playing is fantastic, so much to do but it rarely feels like you have to do anything other than what you want. Of course there are missions and side-missions but if you want to focus on making money, upgrading something, building a base , finding your perfect ship etc. then you have complete freedom to do so.

At the time of writing this steam says I have 188 hours in-game, my saved game is about 105 hours but I'm probably closer to 60-70 played hours.

The community is nice, graphics are great, cross-platform play is a bonus.

I think my only criticisms are minor e.g.
- no choice not to immediately beam to the same in-game instance (surely you can join on next warp so you have time to save and finish what you're doing?)
- No ability to join steam friends game without using steam (perhaps steam friends could be added to NMS friends list on request?)
- No filters or search in the warp portal e.g. Gek, Economy 3, >3 planets, yellow system
