Here is my original review from when I intially had 10 hours of play time:

Coming from someone who very much dislikes "rouge-like" games I find this game to be a hidden gem among modern gaming. This is a brutal and difficult game, but that's what makes it so great! You will die countless times, but along the way you will learn the patterns of enemies and how to play the game properly. The issue with most rouge-likes is that they rely on rng for difficulty. As this can happen in ROR2 it is far more rare then other rouge-likes. ROR2 is challenge, fun, and incredibly addictive. Not to mention every single class in this game fundamentally changes how you play the game, it is like you are receiving 12 games in one package. Truly an amazing game, I could play this endlessly!

Here is my updated review with over 200 hours of play time:

Risk of Rain 2 has a soft spot in my heart... it always will. That being sad ROR2 is in a tumultuous place currently. The developers have basically stopped updating the game which is a shame because it has a lot of issues that become more apparent the longer you play. Simply put the progression of this game is heavily flawed. The fact that 1 hour into a god run you can be one shotted by an enemy is just ludicrous. The difficulty of this game on monsoon is incredibly unabalanced unless you play with artifact of command. I wish Steam had a "maybe" button because I don't know if I would give this a "yes" now adays.
