I downloaded all the pre-load files, then magically transported my computer to the USA, where the game was released on Tuesday.
Or something like that... maybe I just used a US VPN to make Steam think I was in the US? Who knows....
Very basically, if you fully pre-load a game, completely exit from Steam, switch to a US VPN (if you've no idea what that means, just download the free Hotspot Shield, makes it super easy), then restart Steam.
Supposedly no-one who has paid the UK / EU price has ever been banned for it, since it really doesn't matter if someone gets a game 3 days early, but if you used a Russian VPN to buy a game cheap then you'd be asking for trouble.
Basically, using a VPN to play a game early = allowed, using it to buy a game from a cheaper region = ban.
For peace of mind, google for "steam hotspot shield".
not quite giving up warcraft, gave up smoking a couple of weeks ago, needed some gaming without as much social stuff as WoW.
Rediscovered the joy of some of the Steam games, but am mostly back in warcraft now my nicotine deprived grumpiness is gone.
