Play the character you're given your way for the best results. i.e Ambitious, Greedy, Vengeful with a Steward lifestyle will gain the best results building an economy as a ruthless venture capitalist would seizing everything for themselves even declaring a few wars for personal gain (Land conquest doesn't mean power, realm stability matters more than snatching land). Swap greedy with compassionate, then try playing the type of character who donates their wealth to have vassals build up and crushes anyone who threatens their realm. This games all about going forward as strong as possible, you'll need others as they'll need you. This requires making the best out of every character and situation you're given, whether they can become a living legend, or just another ruler keeping the throne warm for someone else in the future. Whatever the means to your end are, I encourage trying every approach to moving forward strong. I've had characters who were mighty fearsome warriors, and I've had characters set me back due to being pathetic ♥♥♥♥ starters immediately after large conquest. Whatever the character they all serve their place. That same pathetic ♥♥♥♥ starter might just have enough intrigue and a personality to kill off and destabilize problems in your realm and neighboring realms. This usually means someone will come for that character as well which is totally cool, you probably want to make some big moves and exit the world quickly for someone who can fix everything soon after. It's also refreshing the amount of ways you can alter the in-game world. It's not just a game of stacking up a big army and throwing them into smaller armies. Casually read up on the situations/religions/laws of neighbors and you'll start to see how easy they are to manipulate after some trial and error. You can be manipulated all the same. I married a woman who had a claim for the entire Arabian empire, however she wasn't going to inherit it unless all her siblings died. I didn't have the time to pick them off one by one as there were so many, so chose the route of a direct war. I noticed that there was a lot of infighting going on in what remained of the Empire so their army was majorly divided + weakened. This allowed me to take land with immense ease. As soon as I was about to win the war I was MURDERED while consuming dinner. This shot the war back significantly. The civil war ended against the Arabic empire which lead to 4ish vassals taking their independence, effectively splitting the border between myself and Arabia with them now in the way. Since I got murdered, whatever land my wife claimed was no longer going to my realm as my daughter from a secondary spouse was the primary heir. Having gone from legendary warrior, to 12 year old curious child in a big war lead to me losing a lot of money keeping the army organized, as well as ALL THAT LAND! Nothing came out of that war, I just fought it for someone else then they were too weak to defend themselves. The Arabic empire then became quickly devoured from their former vassals.

Not Bad, Not Finished, Can't recommend anymore
Pre-ordering games is not a thing I do, but this was one of few exceptions. I was very glad and excited to do it at the time, even convincing several friends into getting this game sooner than later. Now I feel it was a mistake. Back 4 Blood is not a bad game but it is VERY unfinished and I feel cheated for trying to help the developers float through better by my pre-order since the bonus skins felt weak to me. (I typically don't care, however the skins felt minimal, you get the same unrealistic skin for a few of the guns and that's it). Currently it feels microtransaction skins are more a focus than finishing the game. Even worse Back 4 Blood went on sale the first chance it could after coming out and apparently buying it early meant paying full price then and full price for the rest of the game whenever it finally comes out later. The game looks decent but is lacking tremendously in full animations for almost every aspect of the game, and without an environment that changes or can be interacted with. The characters aren't great or original, excluding Doc who was actually very likeable in my opinion. I wasn't hoping for the Left 4 Dead 3 most people were trying to hype/compare this game to, but I was hoping for something that felt way better and more stable for trying to plug in "We're the creators of the genre defining and award winning Left 4 Dead". I've found out that hardly anyone in Turtle Rock had anything to do with the creation of Left 4 Dead after the early phase of the game, only really creating the CONCEPT that is Left 4 Dead. Valve, their passionate and talented team is what made Left 4 Dead a genre defining horde shooter. I also found out Turtle Rock created Evolve, I really wish I knew that when I pre-ordered this game since Evolve was a game that failed early in it's life even with a lot of hype. I had no idea Turtle Rock was active after Valve bought them so when they came back for this game I thought this was due to their success with Valve and tons of promise. I feel mislead with this game by Turtle Rock. Don't hype yourself to be an award winning team and not have any of the same standards.

To me it's a terribly hard time finding people in real life who want to play Tabletop games and actually getting access to them. This game negates so much hardship and has given much needed tools for other Table Top games and ideas to float around so this game is actually incredible.
