Fun game, garbage match making. It shouldn't be possible to reach high ranks with negative win rates - but here, it is.

It's a great game when it works

Great fun with friends when the online session works. So basically 60% of the time.

This is mostly the same as the PS4 version and people have reviewed that to death already.
A few PC specific things I've noticed:
-full res textures don't seem to be full res, despite having the settings correct (I've seen the difference on consoles)
-some graphics settings seem to be broken/doing nothing, while still affecting FPS (like water reflection or SH Diffuse, changing those settings didn't change anything for me)
-switching from keyboard/mouse to gamepad sometimes makes buttons on the gamepad unusable, until you go to keyboard and back again
-online sessions are pretty broken; they tend to randomly disconnect (assuming you got into one in the first place) dropping everyone connected into their own offline instances; sometimes you're unable to join quests; you can't join private sessions you're invited to, while it clearly states that to join a private session you'd need either the ID or an invitation

I'm hoping for patches to fix these online issues and for good events. The PS4 had some great ones at launch, but it's looking sad for us PC people..

..and this is only the alpha.

Some balance issues here and there (looking at you, 2H damage with cheap 1AP skills) and placeholders, but the things that already are in there are pretty awesome.

If Nexus was actually part of the game, I would recommend it on the spot. Alas, it is not, while also being mandatory to the game's enjoyment for me. So, by recommending it I'm basically saying that mods can save this ship.

It has many good qualities, but also as many flaws.
If you are unsure about buying this game - don't. Sifting through mods to find the ones you like takes a while.
If you expect an RPG - don't. This is a fundamental problem in Fallout 4, mods can't fix it. (yet?)
If you can have fun without comparing it to its predecessors and know your way around Nexus, then you will have fun with this.

The modding community is pumping out a lot of good stuff that makes it worth owning this game.

A lot of early access games just die. This one doesn't - and it's getting better everytime I take a look. For an unfinished game it has less bugs than some finished ones. I haven't actually encountered any until now.

The game itself is fun, the combat is fast paced and everything is well telegraphed - your skill matters. While the controls need some getting used to at first, they're pretty intuitive in the way they're laid out and knowing the main mechanic, which is basically shooting balls that can bounce off things. The input also feels really smooth; no perceivable lag, you do what you want to do instantly.

I still have to play through this update, but drawing from past experiences I know that I will not be disappointed.

TAKE THE PET PAL PERK. JUST DO IT.

Too bad the tutorial makes up basically 80% of the game.. d:
I'd recommend it for the nice story and the top tier waifus.

When I bought this game it had mostly negative reviews on Steam, making me cringe at my lack of research before buying it.
Back then it had a lot of bugs and was devoid of the content shown in the game's trailer.
Playing it alone got me bored pretty quickly, but it was still a lot of fun with friends, even back in alpha 6.
Now we're at 15 and we've come a loong way. It has improved in all of its areas:
- it runs smoother now AND looks better
- huge crafting system, which mostly makes sense
- survival aspect expanded
- build/upgrade system for your fortress against the horde
- skill progression
... and a lot more.

This is one of the early access projects that I'm glad to support.
