Great story, wonderful art, if you like visual novel gameplay go for it!

What a journey... I'm still coming to terms with that "bad" ending I got.After researching the causes of that ending and reflecting on my choices, I found myself making excuses, much like James did... I hate how this game makes me feel, but I'm also in awe of the themes it tackles and its storytelling. You have to piece together the narrative yourself and pay close attention to every dialogue to understand what's happening.

I wish the gameplay sections were shorter, though. I don't feel it serves the game well to have James endlessly roaming in hospitals, prisons, and hellish places. It dilutes the story with unnecessary back-and-forth and repetitive combats due to the limited variety of monsters. I understand the need to create a sense of dread, and it makes sense for these places to be painful to navigate. But for me, the game was about 10 hours too long. I had to force myself to continue playing at times. The story was intriguing enough to keep me hooked and wanting to know where it would lead, but I feel it could have been just as impactful with a shorter playtime.

I finished the game on standard difficulty. Resources were abundant, and combat became easy once I mastered dodging. I may have played too defensively, unsure if and when the difficulty would increase, which might explain why it took me over 20 hours to complete.

In the end, I recommend this game because it's crafted with talent and tells a truly deep and dark story. Just be warned, it can be draining to play.

More than a game, a way to experience psychosis. Unique and well crafted. Not for everyone.

This game is a masterpiece with a captivating story. Its haunting beauty and gore will linger with you long after you’ve finished playing. A true gem in the survival horror genre.

What a great adventure game! I really like the tone of the story, the topics tackled (regrets, mourning, integrity etc etc) and the way it was told. I am a fan of the franchise but I really like what was made with this episode. I recognize some gameplay mechanics borrowed from other games (Life is strange "reflect", The medium "character and place switch" etc) which are great additions! The puzzles were never overcomplicated, they were quite straightforward but I enjoyed never being stuck. The environment were fabulous, the design of Vaghen is a wonder. If you are new to the franchise it's ok to start with this episode, the in-game recap will provide you with a bit of context. If you enjoy a great story with some puzzles you will like this game.

My favorite Resident Evil so far. Good balance between action, horror, puzzle, story. Game level & design is pretty perfect. Gameplay is good. Close to masterpiece
