Extremely disappointing that this has been abandoned.

Not sure what compelled Frozen District to take something that is a universal good (minimap) and replace it with something annoying and tedious (flipper sense), but... Ok.

The Good:
-product buying/tablet got a much needed upgrade
-better furniture customization
-placing furniture has been less annoying
-nice animations for cleaning/painting/etc
-sandbox mode
-more house flipper

The Bad:
-short story/few jobs
-Flipper Sense
-assembly of items tied only to specific mode (with occasional inverted camera controls for some reason)
-no minimap/hud with room info
-very little house variety
-no buyer feedback when flipping houses
-replacing usd/customizable currency with... whatever it is? Housebucks? idk. why do this
-no custom canvas tool
-tiling/painting got more freedom at the cost of it being 10x more annoying

The Verdict:
I think the game is fine. I really wish that a lot of the QoL improvements that the DLCs added to the first game made their way into the base game here. There's some questionable design decisions and the removal of things that were in the base game of hf1. I just hope that these same QoL fixes won't be locked behind DLC down the line. I'm going to keep playing this one until I get all the achievements, and then will probably go back to hf1 until this receives substantial updates.

i dont think there was a single character in this game that didnt annoy me

bought on a whim, didn't regret it for a moment. the evolution of the graphical style as the story progresses is something i love.

UPDATE: I have officially, as of today, got all the achievements for this game. I cannot recommend picking it up and giving it a go for yourself enough. I don't want to spoil anything but each of the endings are absolutely worth the time it takes to replay the game. this was a really good one.

Truly an unforgettable game. Haven't played something like this in a long long time.

this game is really solid. with constant updates and a really engaging playerbase, im excited to see where it will go.
