Star Wars Outlaws feels so fun when you don't have a chud in your ear telling you it's nasty

Much like the first game, the writing, and the philosophical questions the game asks, often remind me of myself at ages 13 to 15, being a really annoyingly precocious 13 to 15-year-old, making me cringe. And yet, each time I cringe, I remind myself: "We need art for really annoyingly precocious 13 to 15-year-olds," and make no mistake: this is art. It's written well, it's graphically beautiful, and of course, the puzzles are one of the best in the medium. It tackles worthy topics and debates important questions. It would have made me the most annoying 13 to 15-year-old in the world, if it had come out much earlier. Gift this game to the annoyingly precocious, philosophy and puzzle-loving teen in your life. Have them get you annoyed by how smart they think they are. It'll be worth it.

Great game. The stealth sections suck, though.

Update after completing the whole story and getting all the achievements: as a translator/linguist, this will probably remain one of my favorite games of all time, as well as my personal GOTY. It definitely did not need the stealth sections, and would only be improved without them, I think. It's at its weakest when you have to repeat a stealth section because you missed the timing but at its strongest when you're solving the languages. I did enjoy figuring out the specifics of how each language formed words and the linguistic differences between words that mean the same thing in different languages.

I also do wish the languages had some further variation, like different sentence structures, maybe. I'll be hoping for a DLC, honestly. Please, everyone, play this so we can get more games like it.
